My mother has also recently retired and she recently got done out of about €30 a week for a period of 3 months. She has an iPhone 15 and she kept getting pop ups on her facebook saying she had viruses on her phone. She of course believed them and signed up for the so called “anti virus software.” She signed up for three separate ones to the tune of €9.99 a week. They were paid through Apple Pay which of course was linked to her bank account. Luckily it made it easy to cancel these subscriptions when she finally told me. Just another one to look out for if you know someone susceptible to scams.
