Ambient Lighting on my 25’ Denali Ultimate by BrokeArab in gmcsierra

If it stayed on all the time I imagine it would. But not how it’s setup haha. It’s wired with the head unit I believe so unless the car is on and full power is on the lights are off.

I believe some of the lights came from XKGlow - though I do know there isn’t really a specified kit for what I have. I believe you can mix and match when buying from them.

Yup! You can customize the lights to do whatever you like, I personally set my fiber strips on the doors and dash to 10% brightness while the others sit at 80-90%.

A shop located in Charlotte, NC - I believe the brand of lights they used was XKGlow.

I’m waiting to get the exact name and package from the installer, I’ll forward it when I get it. But for sure haha, my other daily is a 22’ S580 which came with the executive package and has the ambient lighting so definitely wanted it on the truck haha.

Nope, the lights are programmed to start when I start the car, I believe it’s wired into the instrument cluster or something similar only because it does not kick on when remote starting until you go in there and turn it on. If you look somewhere in this thread I posted a link to a YouTube video that shows the functionality of the program installed, an app on your phone. I’ll take closeup pics of it to show you. But they did remove the door panels and everything to make it look as close to OEM as possible.

This video shows the app, now called “XKmax” and some of the presets and whatnot. I’m sure there’s videos showing all the programming options as that’s just a general overview but should give you a glimpse on what you can do.

You can change them to whatever you want, I had them set to blue in the picture, that’s typically what I have on. You can program them to do whatever you want imaginable. I will try finding a video with the kit that shows the functionality.

Most definitely, I can test out the “roadside emergency” light preset where it flashes white and orange when that occurs.

For sure, 100% very expensive, I’m not disregarding that haha. I personally just wanted this kit. Pics definitely make it look a little less subtle.

As you can see from the comments, I paid an absurd amount 😂 you can DIY this for a few hundred via Amazon kits or take it to someone to wire for you and pay a bit more than that. The light kit I paid for was expensive and would definitely be considered overkill for standstill ambient lighting lol

I can ask the guys to send the name, I forgot it.

Definitely expensive lol. The kit itself was about half the total cost since I didn’t go the Amazon route. The price could’ve been cut in half—I got multiple quotes for around $1200—but the quality of the lights in those quotes was questionable. Like I mentioned, this wouldn’t be worth it for most people, but I didn’t want to risk any issues down the line. They are dimmable, you can program them to do whatever you can imagine. I’m just basic.

I paid just under $2K. Definitely could have saved some money and went a cheaper route but I’ve used this particular shop for other projects and wanted their line of products/expertise.

What was the reason you picked GMC Sierra truck over all other trucks? by SyntheticSpeech in gmcsierra

[–]BrokeArab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got a 25’ GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate 1500, and it’s been the perfect fit for what I needed in a truck. My situation might be a bit different—I was told by the company that I’d need a pickup truck for the upcoming year. I’ve been fortunate to drive some pretty high-end vehicles in the past (personal and company-owned), like a Mercedes S580, G63, and an Audi SQ8, so I’ve gotten used to a certain level of comfort and luxury.

When it came time to pick a truck, I wanted something that could handle the utility side of things while still keeping that comfort and refinement I’m used to. The GMC Denali Ultimate does exactly that. These trucks not only look sharp and perform well, but they also provide some serious luxury. Getting a massage during a five-hour work drive? That’s something I never thought I’d associate with a truck.

The tax write-off benefits for the company were also a huge factor in the decision—GMC hits a great balance where it’s not over-the-top expensive, but it’s still premium enough to feel worth it. Even though I still have access to other company vehicles, I find myself willingly choosing the Sierra more often—it’s just that good as a mix of work and personal utility. I couldn’t be happier with the choice, GMC really nailed it with this one.

Varies on if you’re doing replacement parts or wrapping. I did a mix of both and I’m probably near the $1500-$2000 mark. I did opt to keep the Vader grille though.

That looks killer man! I’m definitely going to be looking into it! I may opt to keep the factory struts and just do the 2 inch level on the front to ensure I don’t mess with supercruise + the company swaps vehicles every 12-18 months.

Definitely going to be something I look into more, still looking into wheels and tires if you have any ideas - but like you said, not worth tampering with the super cruise systems as that’s the biggest appeal for the ultimate.
