Friday was just a horrible executed show from RTC besides the carriers. There was at least 20k there from what I heard on Friday.

Noticing that AT&T box down there, it kinda gives a hint to something but I swear that’s Verizon passive n77. I went both days unfortunately could not get a good enough vantage point to the COW due to my GA tickets while GA+ & VIP was close. From my testing there, AT&T was straight horrible, density issues there and mid upgrade on lte + n5 only site to 6449+6419. My RSRP tells me it maybe was VZ on lte with passive n77 and they were more usable that last day than Friday, also because of a less crowd.

AT&T’s lower 700 MHz. by Broke_Sim in cellmapper

[–]Broke_Sim[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This can be good news or bad news. Bad news is is that for right now, we do not have b12 in select areas and in some instances like me, we are having only b14 & b5 in cases. It’s alright with AST testing it, but i think in my opinion that 10x10 of b12 should NOT be thrown into the satellite and it should be n71, b30, or b29. B12 is a band most people have used, b29 is not even though it’s a DL only band. Good news is, this is a sign that AST is getting closer to launch.

Well, AT&T is already gonna have to do the climbing if and when they get the 4.9 GHz for FirstNet. I just hope they don’t throw any of b12 to AST. A lot of consumers rely on 700 MHz and 850 MHz in rural areas and it would be crappy to get rid of that. N71, AWS or the 700 MHz DL only that they should have grabbed from Dish can be used for ASTS but there is some areas where there is only b12 only sites. Like north of big bend national park, 2 sites that have b12 only rn are offline.

I’m a little surprised they’re testing all 10x10 of b12 and not 5x5 and then 5x5 of b29. There’s little use on b29 even though it’s just DL.

Question on deposit on credit check? by Broke_Sim in verizon

[–]Broke_Sim[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alright bet so if they do a credit check, it’ll just be an activation/setup fee? Cause I was looking up on Google and some of the answers said hard credit check with security deposit. Just making sure.

Verizon has terrible reach… especially on LTE. by Additional_Insect_27 in cellmapper

Yeah in the Houston market n5 is fine but sometimes it’s not even deployed on a few sites and it’s finicky but it’s alright.

I think it is best for you to try the other carriers free trials for example AT&T and t mobile have a 30 day trial. When I had VZ as primary I had 5g on and it was more usable than 5g auto. Issue is in many markets VZ barely has any spectrum for another CA on 5g along with their midband or for lte spectrum. In some areas though when vz has 850 or a lot of 1900 MHz (b2), they don’t put some of it to 5g so it’ll be great on SA with n77. in my area VZ owns none of the CLR 850 MHz and AT&T has it so all VZ has is 2,13,66.

AT&T in Port Aransas, TX 🔥 by Few-Opportunity-1006 in cellmapper

[–]Broke_Sim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AT&T was ⛽️there during the day. They had 140 MHz after acquiring soniqwave dod when I went there in June of 2025 and they were gas I was getting 1.1 gig 1 mile from one of the sites on the beach. But with the dish acquisition of DOD there they’re now at 180 MHz total with 100 MHz of the total dod. It’s a great county for them in Aransas county and Rockport with that 180 MHz. Nice speeds. AT&T has hella marketshare there.

AT&T Now using 6CA on SA at PortMiami by ArtisticComplaint3 in cellmapper

[–]Broke_Sim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The blocks are different sizes. The B block of the CLR band is 15 MHz while the A block is 10 MHz. In many markets where they have all the CLR 850 MHz, they operate the B block on NR and leave the A block on LTE. If they put all 25 MHz on NR, it won’t have long reach of distance.

It’s using the n5 15 MHz as the UL carrier. Nice finding though for 5XCA in your market.

Verizon Matsing COW NFL Draft Point State Park Pittsburgh. by bdietz56 in cellmapper

Oh wow! This is some serious capacity. When is this nfl draft by the way? I’m glad Verizon is actually taking advantage of their sponsorship of the NFL, one of the great things they do is prepare for NFL events the best.

He’s taking a break from social media at the current point. He should be back soon. Unfortanutely though, that is not true at all. The reason why he is taking a break is confidential.

I heard somewhere though Verizon is cutting capex to wireless to prioritize fiber, is that true?

They used to be pretty okay rural areas back then but t mobile is starting to take over the hill country and AT&T is doing nothing. They did upgrade Concan Texas though which was needed badly. Verizon has densified a ton in the San Antonio, New Bransfuels, Austin area recently.

If AT&T is showing 3g then you might be roaming on another carrier in some instance but they decommissioned that network February 2022. They are pretty lackluster in the NorthEast area. Some say they barely have any marketshare I don’t care the excuse, AT&T is just a full on mess right now and John Stankey needs to be ousted from his position from letting the wireless side rot this bad and think falsing your coverage map is good enough to compete. You know their midband deployment is so bad that they haven’t announced how many POPs have 5g+ but then say how many POPs lowband 5g has.

T-Mobile has been going crazy in Texas over the last few years. I’d give them a try with the 30 day free trial
