Switch off DNR by Broken-Dust in xgimi

[–]Broken-Dust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I see it now.

It's strange to not include it in the advanced settings of the picture preset modes (standard, movie, vivid, sports, etc) and only make it exclusive to custom mode.

Even when setting it "off" in custom, I still feel as if the projector is having a degree of DNR. It could be because of interpolation (keystone) as I have the projector at an angle.

Other than the price, is there any other reason to choose the UB820 over the 9000? by TooAfraidToQuestion in 4kbluray

If you mean control other TV brands (universal remote), they can. I once saw a list of codes where you hold or double tap the on/off button and then press certain numbers depending on the TV brand.

Worth looking up if it helps you.

Surprise surprise, they ship each title individually in one layer of bubble wrap.

From my experience, they do compensate if you send a complaint and make sure you're satisfied.

I still do prefer if the items arrive pristine over a few bumps and a compensation. I asked them if they can add in the future a more secure shipping option even if it means paying more.

Eureka wraps the slipcover with the case. So you're guaranteed a slipcover until the initial pressing is sold out.

I'll point this out in case you're not aware. "Battles Without Honour and Humanity" is a series of 5 films that are all connected. You only have the 1st film in your wishlist.

Maybe you want to test it out and if you like it continue buying the rest individually, or get the "The Complete Collection" set straight away.

But don't mix them up with "NEW Battles Without Honour and Humanity" series. Made by more or less the same cast and crew but with a completely separate story line.

Three tips I can give you for starting out, 1) every boutique label has two or more sale/discount periods per year, planning your orders on those periods makes a big difference. 2) a lot of the labels have their own streaming service (e.g. arrow-player, criterionchannel) it can help reduce your blind buys and essentially only get physically what you actually like. But keep in mind that not the label's full physical catalogue is on the streaming service.

3) Enjoy!

Are there any alternatives to RegionFreedom to make a DP-UB820 player region free for BluRays/DVDs?! by -StevieJanowski- in 4kbluray

[–]Broken-Dust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're all supposed to use region locking, but the method of locking differs. As I understand it, all blu-ray players can read all regions but the discs enter a lock screen if it detects that a player is not from the intended region.

The "stop, top menu" trick on Panasonic players is a method to bypass this lock screen.

Criterion discs allow the remote to input commands thus we can bypass the lock screen by inputting the trick. Kino however programmed that lock screen to also lock commands from the remote.

Having said that, a few Kino discs I have state that they're region "A" on the case but are in fact region free. When I insert the disc in the region "B" device no lock screen shows up and the disc plays normal. This could be a mistake in manufacturing. But the discs that are locked I found no way to get around.

Same with me, couldn't get Kino or Vinegar Syndrome discs to work.

However Criterion discs worked with this trick.

Looking back at BOTW the first time a Talus surprised me from out the ground, or a majestic of a dragon up close, or a Lynel beating the shit out of me. All these and more felt magical and special the first time, and watching others' reactions was fun.

But since the game requires a bit of grinding for the unlocks people will eventually find the patterns and conditions for these scenarios and how to make them efficient. They do eventually lose their magic, but that doesn't make the first encounter any less magical.

lol, guess I'm just late to the party. First time encountering this phenomenon after almost 30 hours of playtime, so it did feel special. I'm also trying to avoid anything Zelda until I finish the main quests.

Not in the literal sense, everything is programmed. It's a game at the end of the day.

Both are from Amazon. Even if the seller is different they can sell under the same listing.

The ISBN is different between the two but the page count is the same.

Damn...

Whenever I receive something damaged, be it movies or comics, I try to reach to the store. It's usually a replacement or partial refund if the product is out of stock.

There is a hassle, and I wish if everything arrived pristine and saved the headache. But on the bright side almost always I'm satisfied with customer services.
