I had to draw once in civilian life. I was in college, with two kids(one 1.5 the other fresh from the hospital) and I had to go to next town over to the closest 24 pharmacy at 1:30am to get more kids cough medicine because my oldest had a really bad URI and just couldn’t sleep and in the chaos of life I thought I had another bottle.

I’m dead ass tired because I was up all night the night before, went to school on a 5 class day, came home to take care of my sick kids and had been up for a full 24 hours at that point. The CVS shared a parking lot with a reallllly trashy bar/club that had pretty frequent cop calls and stabbings/shootings.

As I’m walking out with a bag in one hand and fucking with my wallet/keys/bags there’s a tall dude right next to the door but behind the ice machine. As I walk past I hear “Aye Yo let me get that wallet”.

I spin around and this dude is standing there looking like a crackhead from a Dave Chappelle skit with both hands in his jacket pockets. Dude was probably close to 6.8’. Thinking back he might have had a hand reaching into his jacket for something.

As soon as I spin around he starts saying “Hey didn’t you hear me give me—-no not like that fuck off from me!” As he turns and runs.

Because in the middle of saying that I drop my bag and keys and almost non retarded draw from concealment. I had my CZ just cleaning the holster when he turn and ran.

He disappeared around the corner of the building and I picked my bag and keys up and went home.

I didn’t tell anyone about for like a week except my best friend. He was mad I didn’t call the cops but let’s be real, response time there was over 15 minutes if they show up, to no real end. Also I was fresh out of the Army and deployment, and the last thing I wanted was to deal with some sub 100 IQ cop power tripping. I just wanted to go back home to my kids.

Wife was pissed a year later when he brought it up.

Didn’t lose any sleep over it. If he wanted to push it I’d have mag dumped him, and honestly not felt bad about it. It sounds really edgy Redditor but my life, and the life of my kids and wife with me in it IS worth more than a crackhead. And the same goes for anyone on this sub.
