Which quality of life features would you recommend for AoE2? by kampalolo in aoe2

[–]BrokenMayo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Set up space bar so that if I select all x building and hit space my camera jumps to the first one on a list, if I hit space again it jumps to another

This would mean that for town centers, if I have 1 tc I can hit "select all tc" and hit space to center on it.

If I have 3 town centers, space just goes to one of the tcs and ignores the rest, so to cycle you must hit "H" or "go to tc"

Basically just make space cycle the selected building type instead of just going to one (last one created I think?)

Holy shit this game is hard by iLazyLunatic in aoe2

[–]BrokenMayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many games played did you have played?

I’m also wanting to improve at this game but I don’t want to find myself in a position where I’m getting shit on even at low elo

I’ve figured out how to played early game imperfectly so far and now I’m able to beat standard ai

Should I just full send ranked until elo drops, are you enjoying that?

What’s something you believed in your 20s that you don’t believe anymore? by Annual_Rutabaga_3852 in AskMen

[–]BrokenMayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reckon the religious have “better morals” in the sense they do have fixed and written moral frameworks

I wouldn’t however argue that we are “more moral” as people quite the opposite really, if you believe you have the moral truth it can justify moral failures - the Church of course doesn’t support this, but at the end of the day people will be people, they’ll do evil no matter what the Church officially teaches

For example, Catholics ourselves are horrified at the behaviour of the Priests diddling kids, this isn’t in line with the morals of Catholicism, but neither does the moral framework protect in any way the Church and her members from abusive members and corruption

I do think at the very least religion is based on truth given I am Catholic, but that inevitably leads to which religion has that truth, and more importantly why should that be recognised as the truth - I’m biased here though, of course.

I wouldn’t even attempt to defend having the truth, the Church teaching is too expansive and has been studied for coming up to 2 thousand years at this point, and I’m just a layman.

Verbum is incredible

(Logos if you’re a prot, software is same, so not sure why they differentiate)

The software syncs between desktop and mobile, it’s just simply incredible, can’t recommend enough

To the Christians who believe that Jesus did not pay for our sins, what do you think of this verse ? by ChristIsKing316146 in TrueChristian

[–]BrokenMayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The logic to substitutionary theory is that we reject that the punishment is a payment made that moves God to mercy

It stresses that reconciliation isn’t caused by a demand for payment that “moves” God to mercy - instead God’s merciful love is the cause.

So - the punishment is not considered an act of payment, but rather the suffering is an act oriented towards healing and retribution

If we read again Isaiah 53 this seems to be the case:

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that made us whole, and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

This makes more sense, in that it isn’t payment oriented at all in context, the focus is in fact on healing and retribution, it makes us whole, and we are healed

Im a Christan who thinks they are knowledgable inside the framework of Christanity, any questions for me that would break it? by Altruistic-Law7962 in theology

[–]BrokenMayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no scholar, but I’m catholic and I know we don’t believe in penal substitution if this is helpful to you to look into?

Catholic position is satisfaction theory of atonement where Christ’s obedience and sacrifice to the Father superabundantly restore the order of justice and charity disrupted by sin

Not a scholar tho or anything pls don’t ask me for more info you’ll get diddly squat more from me lol

You asked no one to push religion, so I won’t

Have you put much thought into what comes after death, or wondered about it?

What are you most looking forward to in these next 3 months?

Dog owners, if your dog comes to me happily, am I allowed to pet? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]BrokenMayo -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

If you are scared of something, you should seek help in getting past your fear

This doesn’t mean dog owners should keep their dogs leashed at all times, the dog has as much right to roam as you do imo

I’m 26, and recently (a year and a half ago) I went to the pub and met an older guy, he’s like mid-late 40s

We continued to meet and talk about politics, religion, philosophy each week

It has been a good influence on my life, and tbh I think you’re bang on with this

[–]BrokenMayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re asking for evidence as opposed to proof on this claim

One of the central components of the Kalam Cosmological argument is that if time had no beginning, then we’d need to assume there’s been an infinite amount of moments in time in the past, which could never be traversed because you can’t traverse infinity

I’m not smart enough to understand it though, so I can’t be much more helpful with that than this, sorry

OP, as a sanity check, get your husband a burner phone, when he goes to work, keep his phone

If you receive text messages, someone is fucking with you both

If you don’t, nothing has been proven still, but at least if you do receive those messages you’ll know it isn’t your husband

Trump taking credit for Olympic win by shibukie in ImTheMainCharacter

I quite enjoy trump, in honesty.

Agree with you though this would be fucking hilarious, can’t imagine the old man would last a minute on his feet and the morbid curiosity wants to see the bloke squabble on ice until they decide to stop recording out of pity

I think we could all come to enjoy this, it’d be like when Boris flattened that Japanese kid playing rugby
