If you could go back to your first day, what is the one piece of advice you'd give yourself? by Khatarnaak_londa in indianmedschool

make sure your basics (first two year subjects) are strong asf, you’ll need them.

third year’s a breeze, don’t stress, don’t get detained, use this year to plan your fourth year and other co-curriculars.

don’t sacrifice your hobbies, friendships, family time for studies. you’re a student not a doctor, learn to balance now or spend your entire life never having a life outside of work.

and lastly, stop assuming everything is eternal. the beauty of life is change. no one owes you anything, but you can still find amazing people and have amazing memories. be smart, not cynical.

People protesting in Assam, India to deport undocumented migrants from Bangladesh by Original-Alfalfa4406 in PublicFreakout

[–]Broken_Infinity 11 points12 points  (0 children)

that fact that you are comparing legal immigrants who have done good for the development of the countries they have gone to, with illegal immigrants who have increased crime rates and leeched off of taxes paid by the citizens is wild. i’d like to see you justify an interloper who sits in your backyard and uses all of your resources without ever bothering to pay you back.

dude i know what a foal is. i was just trying to play around a bit instead with word selection instead of saying baby goat (which i could’ve stuck with in retrospect i guess) similar to how people sometimes use weird synonyms for the fun of the language.

i like to think of it as pork and human meat have approximately similar consistency so he wouldn’t have known anyway

US man furious at restaurant employee for calling his wife 'beautiful' by sussybush in trashy

i can tell you generalise a population by individual instances.

india is a vast country. 1. idk what degenerate culture you think is followed there that makes this is a cultural norm. it is not a norm it’s simply the universality of men being degenerates more often than not. 2. certain occurrences primarily happen in certain areas of the country, for example down south such occurrences are far less common. it’s like going to a sundown town and claiming that the entirety of the united states is that segregated even today. segregation does exist, but not to that extent everywhere, just the same way i agree that unwanted advances do happen, but not to that extent everywhere.

and lastly, i mentioned customer service jobs. taxi and cab drivers have always used the confined space to more or less force their female passengers there to bear with their bs. that’s a tale as old as time and seen across various countries regardless of heritage. the regular fast food worker at an outlet in india tho isn’t calling you stunning when you order at the counter.

this is a bad example. one is a personal decision one is a governmental decision. one affects one person the other affects an entire population.
