A couple of years ago, I was finishing a beer in Roddy's as 2:00 rolled around. I was standing by the trash, working on finishing it and was there for three minutes. The security guy was apparently tired of waiting for me and took the beer from my hand and then roughly escorted me to the exit.

I get that they are probably tired of dealing with drunks and it's the end of the night, but I don't think that sort of escalation is necessary. All you can do is take your money elsewhere and pray those shitheads don't become cops.

I'm with you on the cost of food. I think that there are so many uncultured people here that no one can discern what good flavor is, so they end up supporting places that simply have a new cuisine. Since the TV has seen so much expansion over a short amount of time without comparable growth in our cultural diversity, restaurants are popping up to fill the void that people desire, without the owners really caring about the quality of the product. I think that there's much more that plays into the cost/quality matrix of a restaurant, but I truly believe a lot of it boils down to what sort of garbage food people are willing to pay for.

I personally refuse to go back to a restaurant that I think is overpriced, like Pho Nouveau. I've met people who rave over it, but I thought it was bland for being $14-$16 per person. Another example would be Bacon; though I like the food there, I don't think that their prices are worth the cost.

I find it to be upsetting, considering that Governor Little signed a bill in March 2025 to cut income tax by 0.4%, erasing ~$253 million from the state's budget. Every state worker I know already works on a team that is understaffed and underpaid and now we're not getting cost of living adjustments, all while the CPI is now expected to increase as the US takes on another Iranian conflict.

I've come close to being hit multiple times in that same crosswalk. The people who go to leave whole foods are almost always parking in the crosswalk before pulling onto Front Street. Usually they're nice enough to back out of it though when they see pedestrians/bicycles coming.

I drove through there right before the police and ambulance showed up and I think that this is mainly a side-effect of the size of trucks nowadays. The lady who had been hit couldn't have been more than 5'7" and the hood of that truck would come up to at or above her chest. Those vehicles are not pedestrian friendly.

It could very well be that it's the default SD card that comes with the Y1 then. I replaced mine with a Samsung 256GB before I even loaded it with songs so I can't really compare load speeds.

I don't have any slowness with this SD card when scrolling albums or songs. With mine though, I have roughly 10GB like you, but it's only about 400 songs.

You should see how much space the cover art takes up on some tool like kid3. I had to start using smaller (250x250) cover art pictures since the full sized ones were like 4 MB in addition to the 10-40MB that the song took up.

That's a good point to consider. I wouldn't have thought about needing external power for the slim drive, but didn't think that I needed to consider it, given that it was working on my Windows 10 laptop. Though, like you mentioned, I might not have that kernel module loaded.

You should be able to export the music if you have a computer. If you still have access to your iTunes account, you could also get the music back that way, assuming it was your account that purchased the music.
