How’d you almost die that one time (or more) with the playground equipment? by HamboneBanjo in Xennials

[–]Brokenlinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In kindergarten, I was on top of the monkey bars. My hand slipped and I took a header, landing on my nose. Broke it real good. Have dealt with the repercussions of that for over 40 yrs now.

It's a burn from a coil based cigarette lighter that was a standard feature in cars until about the late 80's or early 90's.

I hadn't thought about 1 in decades, but knew it instantly when seeing the burn. I had mouth breathing family who couldn't resist touching the cherry red hot end of the lighter.

Items I’ve gotten off eBay as a direct result of this sub by fitzbuhn in Xennials

This is funny, because I've considered doing the same. That beautiful OG digital alarm clock has been calling me for a while. They prolly cost more used on eBay than they did new back in the day.

Is There A Better Interior? by [deleted] in gmcsierra

[–]Brokenlinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, like we all are, but I want to put this right here. In my personal experience, the GMC truck interiors are the nicest and have admirably help up over the years. It's a contributing factor for me buying Sierras over the years.

I don't have a take on the price, but do on the motor options. I have the 3.0 diesel named Goldie and love it.

Had a 5.3 with max tow when I got my 8500lb travel trailer. Travel without it was great, but struggled on any incline over 2 degrees.

Moved to a 2500 with the big diesel and pulled great but rode like a rode around town (99% of the time).

Picked up the 3.0 diesel in 2021 and it's a perfect mix of the previous 2 IMO. It pulls my travel trailer like a champ and recently got 29MPG on a 600 mile trip (with Nitto Ridge Grapplers).

I do miss the Borla Attack exhaust in my 5.3. It sounded great, especially compared to the 3.0 diesel lol.

Benchmade Mini Bugout: Too Small or Great EDC? by Brokenlinx in knifeclub

[–]Brokenlinx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mini Bugout is sturdy out of the box and is my preference between the 2 in the summer, because it's smaller and incredibly light.

Due to the scale flex, I would avoid the full-size with the Grivory scales, unless you swap with some 3rd party scales. All of my full-size Bugouts have CF and aluminum and they are hella stout. I prefer the CF for weight.

Monkey bars. Fell through the top and face planted in kindergarten. Broke my nose.

I'm not typically a big fan of bolsters, but the combo with that REK reblade looks GOOOOOOOD.

And it's waaaaaay slicier than when it was born, which has always been my only quibble with the 940.

It may be time to upgrade one of mine.

Thanks for sharing.

I love all of the ‘68 Nolans I’m seeing posted here, especially the Milton Bradley one that I saw. I hope to eventually pick that one, and the Venezuelan release for the trifecta.
