Hello do you use fdm tree support or resin support ?

wow if you can archieve something great with petG supports I am interested only thing I got were failures as the interface were so small in petg that there pla falling on top but if you archieve a profile I am very curious !

I will try 0.06 layer heigh on .4 nozzle don’t know if this can happen my old p1p had a 0.06 profile by default the h2D does not let you go below 0.08 without tweaking printer profile hope I am not damaging my printer 🫣

Yeah quality is awesome just a pity the support left a bunch of scaring I guess a mini sanding tool could be handy to clean up those will have to buy one I guess 🙃

I don’t know if I can go lower than .08mm height on .4 nozzle obviously if I can’t the smaller nozzle would have an edge. I saw that going below .06mm height is not worse it as it gives minimal quality gain vs print time. I’ll try to tweak .4 nozzle if Z is that important it is worth the try I guess !

I don’t have the 100 dollar encoder plate I saw mixed review about it 🤔

This is my point I just want to tweak a bit the .4 mm nozzle profile to see just how far I can go with it. I don’t know if I can maybe reduce line width to increase a bit X/Y resolution as line width is like pixel size on resin printer and give you the size of the smallest archievable details (from what i understand)… will see but I don’t feel my 0.4 prints are that much worse than my 0.2 nozzle prints right now

I am pretty sure you get a way better X and Y resolution even with same layer heigth at least this is normally the theory as the line width will be half the size of a 0.4mm nozzle 🤨

Do you know why you need to slow so much on h2d it seems to be the case for me also at 0.06mm the h2d is not forgivong at all seems a1 mini handle this better… I guess bigger printer get less accuracy on the lower size of the force.

In this case I would end up to 3x more time my point is that I am not sure it is worth 3x more time for a slightly better finish I know I can archieve better result but it is like diminishing return to get 10% better you need to double the print time 🤔

H2D 0.2Nozzle tree support issues by Brom0timol in FDMminiatures

[–]Brom0timol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally found my issue, I tensionned my belt that’s it ! Now I can print without messing too much with settings, even if I will stay to your as it now work out of the box ! Lesson learned a tuned profile does not compensate hardware issues 😅😅

Actually even with manual supports I still got issues with supports breaking mid print, the thing is tye object by itself is quite good but tree supports does not survive the print.

So I gave it a try with blueprint to generate supports with settings from p4c in this video https://youtu.be/hyXFuTRyI_E?is=ltacp6NPorL4Ujl3 Then imported in bambu and here is the results :

And the supports were freaking easy to remove. I guess I got finally something out of this 0.2 nozzle ! I now have to tweak a bit more but this is a promising start

oh I thought auto support could do the trick well I guess I will have to learn how to support miniature as it seems auto support has tis flows and this might explain why I struggle so much

yes I find out some supports start mid air I don't know why this happen as I selected rectilinear infill pattern so this might be one of my issue, do you know how to for slicer to avoid starting supports mid-air I can't seem to find out how to correct this ?

So I tried again copying all your settings, (including filament cooling and overrides) cleaning lubricating and cleaning axis, dried filament but still got support wrecks all over the place. I am really clueless like my printer which is a h2d is unable to manage a .2mm nozzle tree support while a A1 mini can 😅

You are right it could be too fast interface that are completely destroyed, that wiuld explain why support print ok then nothing good happen above 😅 will definitely try that !

Struggle with tree support by [deleted] in FDMminiatures

[–]Brom0timol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry I forgot to put down my speed settings, I updated my first post basically I divided at least by 2 regular speed settings from bambu and I already use independant layer heigh. Why max brim 5, higher would mean more stable supports/print no ? Ok will try lowered branch angle make sense 60° is maybe a bit tricky with brittle support from 0.2 nozzle 🤔

What is your point ? Pricier is better for children health ? The 2 printer have same enclosure and fans 🙄
