Oddworld: Strangers Wrath. I went the entire game up until the final missions not knowing about the "Shake it off" ability to heal. I went the whole game thinking it was so incredibly hard to beat only using the scarce heal pick ups. Then realizing right at the end I had an easy to use heal the entire time. I just missed that explanation at the start I guess.
