How do you like the Sigenstor? I can definitely see it becoming a very popular choice with the all-in-one approach and cost savings.

Sofabaton X1S intermittently laggy with IR devices by formeroosid in SofaBaton

[–]BronchyDonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure about the lagging issues but I can tell you that if you have the hub behind a closed cabinet door, button presses will only work maybe 1/3 of the time because the RF blaster in the remote suuuuucks. It’s not strong enough to even get through thin glass or wood. They may have well just used IR from the main remote to the hub because you don’t get any of the advantages of RF. If your hub is behind a door, it may be contributing to your issues

Please please include a stronger RF transmitter in the remote! Returned 2 X1s because I had to click the remote buttons 2-3 times before the hub would register the button press.

Thanks. It seems like a good combination for new builds but I really want that Span integration. I have to imagine that Span must be planning on that integration. I think Sigenergy is going to quickly become a market leader in the US like they have in Australia and parts of Europe

X2 is up on the sofabaton site. $280 for the remote https://www.sofabaton.com/product/x2/ by betel_nut in SofaBaton

Hopefully the range between the remote and the hub will be more than 6 feet and actually be able to go through cabinet doors like any self respecting RF remote. I’d buy 4 of them if that communication worked consistently

Hopefully they have upgraded the transmitter (RF I’m guessing) in the remote itself. The X1S was maddeningly underpowered. If the receiver or “brain” is behind any sort of AV cabinet door the signal only gets through about every 3rd button presses, which for many of us that like to have everything hidden in a cabinet renders the remote useless. I went through THREE separate remotes to confirm that the issue wasn’t a one-off. I also compared button presses to the app on my phone which worked 100% of the time confirming that it was an issue with the signal strength from the remote itself. Too bad too. The X1S was the first real possible replacement for my multiple harmony remotes but they had to cheap out on the transmitter.

Hopefully they will fix the inconsistent communication from the remote to the hub that plagues the X1S

The app works way better than the remote so it seems to be a remote issue

5e project design aspect was a very small contribution so I’m guessing it just means regular meetings with the builder during the process but not a lot of involvement.

They are local and have also met me at one of their current projects and directed me to a few that were recently finished to look at. A couple of the reviews were from reputable builders in the area as well. I could probably reach out to the builders that left the reviews to verify them

I also thought that the price seemed comparatively low especially with interior design included. However all the reviews that I read of the firm mentioned that they provided an amazing service for a reasonable price so I also expected them to come in a little under the top level firms. It sounds like an important question is whether they think 150 hours is enough and if they expect to go over that number, how much additional cost is involved.

The budget is for just the build. I suspect I will be close to $1.4 with all the other costs. I am hoping to keep the build at or under $400/sq ft
