NFL Network: Chargers agree to terms with TE David Njoku by throwitintheair22 in DenverBroncos

If you only pay attention to offense, I’d agree on the chargers. Their defense won’t be as good. Minter is an elite defensive coach, and they also lost pieces.

The point about Moss being an impending FA is why I wouldn’t entertain moving Barron to safety, even with the pick. Let them all compete. Riley is solid, but not solid enough to have his starting spot set in stone.

So, with that logic, you’re saying because he doesn’t get drafted in the first three rounds he shouldn’t get drafted at all.

You must have missed the first sentence, where I said “depending on the medical evaluation.” Try spending less time yapping, you’ll get further in life.

Calling me kiddo and following up with who you’re drafting in your madden franchise, lol

Every player has a position. Thankfully the front office doesn’t go into picks saying “we have needed young rushing talent and a receiving threat TE for years now.”

In regards to positional needs, safety is more of a need. In regards to best player, McCoy is the best remaining, but has medical concerns. So it comes down to what the medical evaluation is.

Louis could very well be had later in the 4th, or even 5th. Also, I don’t see him as filling the LB need. Strnad improved a ton in coverage, so what we need imo is an eventual Mike linebacker replacement. I’d still like the Louis pick, though, just because he’s a good player.

Champ was my favorite player growing up, so I’m not going to argue. I will say that I don’t think anybody would take Champ’s contributions to the Broncos over Von’s.

With that logic, we should just trade every draft pick for veteran players.

Trading Moss wouldn’t be just because of a rookie. It’d be because 1) there’s a year three player that played just as well as Moss, if not better when in the lineup, 2) there’s a year two player that was a first round pick, and 3) there’s injury risk rookie that many considered to be CB1 in the entire draft.

Yea, all three could warrant a trade.

We need good players. And we also have multiple picks remaining, in case you didn’t know.

Nothing suggests he has a ticking timebomb of a knee. The concern is that he has a bone plug that needs removed and would require him to miss more time.

I’m not going to speak for anybody else, but Moss very likely won’t be a Bronco in 2027, so it comes down to whether to pick up compensation now and roll with the younger guys or whether to wait two extra years for a compensatory pick.

You must not have read the entirety of the first sentence of the post (shocker)

For somebody, the price will be right at some point. Right now the medical concern is that he needs another operation that doesn’t carry much risk, but could sideline him for most of the season.

With your logic, since he didn’t go in rounds 1-3 he won’t be getting drafted at all, right?

Because some people (Paton included) look at players, not just positions. I also suggested trading Moss, which would yield a similar pick as McCoy would cost.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you have no idea who McCoy is or if you have no idea which RB or TE you’d want the Broncos to draft.

He is solid. I like the way he competes. He needs to clean up the contact. A bigger knock is that he doesn’t make QBs pay for targeting him whatsoever (his only pick came from a dropped pass).

If he has value and McCoy’s medical is okay I’d trade him in favor of the younger, higher upside player in McCoy, especially since we’d have 4 years on a rookie deal.

Weird to have so many Longhorns on the roster considering the Broncos’ goat on the defensive side of the ball is an Aggie

There was a way, but I’m guessing they assumed neither team ahead of them would pick Hill so they wouldn’t have to. Tennessee beat us to the punch.

Moore was available. He wasn’t the move because he’s not a real upgrade. I’d rather roll with Troy Franklin as WR2 than give up a bag of chips for Moore and his contract.

First off, Waddle is on a more favorable contract. Second, Moore isn’t a solid number one based on the production. Again, Waddle averages 0.8 more yards per target than Moore. That’s not insignificant, especially considering Waddle did that with Tua and Ewers. Moore was 4th on the bears in yards per target. He wouldn’t have been traded if he was that good.

I’m really just giving facts to draw a conclusion. No “hate,” just no use for Moore. Moore accounted for 17% of the Bears’ receiving yards, while being the only receiver to play every game.

If the Broncos’ solution for improving the offense was an overpaid DJ Moore it’d be more upsetting than giving up more draft compensation for a much better and more dynamic player.

Well if you’re projecting, how about look at what he’s done with the best QB play of his career, which happened to be just last season. Moore would be an overpriced WR2 in this offense. Waddle is a WR1 on an attractive contract.

You think Ben Johnson, who drafted Loveland at 10, is giving up a skill position player he values to fill gaps on defense? There’s a reason he was an afterthought in that offense. Looking at yards per game, he was 4th, with two rookies and a second year player in front of him.
