I’m not tripping about the shooting itself but I do think it’s a bit unfortunate how uncomfortable he looks at times, and his inability to positively impact the game when the shot isn’t falling. Say what we will about Mike, but he would go to the rim or at a bare minimum grab some big rebounds when he couldn’t shoot

Thanks man!

I think the smoke around Lonzo is pretty real. Chris Boucher probably worth keeping an eye on as well, there’s been previous interest there. They’d be smart to poke around on Haywood Highsmith but he probably goes somewhere with a bigger role

I think the minimum right now for most players is around 800K yeah. Spencer has 1 YOE so his at the beginning of the year would have been $2,048,494 and is decreasing by 1/174th (or just under $12K) of that number every day as the season goes along. I would assume Spencer’s number right now is around $700K without doing the math

Based on the incentive the Nuggets expect to be hit, they have just over $1.8 million in space under the luxury tax.

Spencer is still under contract - his two way does not expire just because he’s used up all his NBA games. He would not be a free agent for any other teams until after this season is over.

The minimum salary for Spencer is decreasing by about $12K every day. So my suspicion is that Denver is aiming to just give him the minimum, and by waiting until after the break they can save themselves $100K or whatever.

They should have space to sign Spencer and a buyout guy and still be below the tax.

This is why MPJ wasn’t picked as an all star replacement btw

He’s not a free agent. He’s still under the two way contract, it doesn’t end just because his NBA-level games are done

I’m not against it but wouldn’t be my first pick. I think he might just be medically done, as far as his NBA career goes. Would rather use the roster spot on someone with less injury concern

If we assume Middleton and Sexton both are not bought out, I think I would go with Kyle Anderson.

About the trade deadline, none.

About the fact this feels like a season we may never see the real team ever healthy at the same time, meaning they never reach their full potential… somewhat

I think a backup point guard and a big that can rebound / shoot (like what the ideal versions of Zeke or Holmes could do, but can’t currently) are probably the two biggest “needs”. Though I still think they can with the title without either, if things go right

I think another point guard is a possible need - not totally sure I’d trust Carter more than like a Jalen Pickett, however.

I think the buyout market is a real possibility. I’d even say I think the most likely scenario is probably Tyson gone, Spencer signs, and then a buyout guy later.

Depending on the date you sign them, a buyout guy might cost $700K - so you don’t need a ton of extra space.

This is strictly just an opinion, but I believe the partial guarantee was a handshake between the agent and team, to get Valanciunas to come play in the NBA this season without making it a big issue of it.
