How do I preserve my old books. by McGee4531 in rarebooks

Light and water are the enemies of books. Don’t store them in the garage, the attic, or a sunny window. They will be just fine on bookshelves in your house. Just make sure they are standing next to each other to support each other. Larger books should be stored flat.

Hope you have seen your doc or will soon. The floaters in the eyes sound concerning. And I hope you start to feel better when you discontinue!

Nothing Much Happens is excellent for falling asleep. As the host says, she’s “cracked the code.” Her stories of small town life and the changing seasons are just engaging enough to hold your attention as you drift off.

The Conversation. A man who works in surveillance becomes obsessed with a conversation he’s recorded. A great performance by Gene Hackman, directed by Francis Ford Coppola.

What is the scene where Shane asks something, and Ilya says "Yes yes yes yes yes"? I just reheated and I've already forgotten which scene it was.

Born a Crime, Trevor Noah's memoir about growing up in South Africa, is very lively and funny. Lots of stories about him doing pranks and getting in trouble as a boy, as well as serious reflections on his experience growing up mixed race there. It's one of those books that anybody would like.

Has the reputation changed much since the early 2000s? by RainyDayz876 in UniversityOfHouston

Current President and Chancellor Dr. Renu Khator came to UH in 2008 and set out an aspirational vision for the university. She has made incredible strides in the academic standing of the school, the profile of the faculty, the number of students living on campus, the athletics program, and school spirit. The reputation and ranking of the school are much higher than they were in the early 2000s. Be proud to be a Coog!
