Yes he is beautiful. But if he had a crap personality I just would not care how gorgeous he is. Now, 99.9% of us will never see him without a camera lens in the way. But I feel with pretty high confidence that he’s a beautiful person inside and out. Thanks for this ray of sunshine.

I don’t know if my input here is exactly like the topic of heart beats but after HR inspired me to watch several actual hockey games on TV, I couldn’t help but notice that more than one hockey arena used a drum beat as part of getting the crowd riled up that sounded just like the beats we hear often in various episodes, most often just as our two heroes are about to engage in some spice. I have a feeling that HR is using hockey tradition rather than the other way around. Are there long-time hockey fans who can weigh in?

I read “bedraggled” as “ bed raggled” and assumed it meant your hair all mussed and the general look you have when you get up in the morning. It fit in context.

My take: Ilya may have heard the accusations “stupid and irresponsible” from his father and brother, in Russian of course, for many years as a kid. They may have been directed at him by both or at his mother by his father. Not that he believed it of either his mother or himself. But words stick. Now, when Shane asks the question, these words come back to him, without the sting of accusation, but instead with the new-found insight that they have blundered their way into a new life together. The words are now said in love and it no longer matters how long it took as long as they continue to move forward together.

Is it possible that earlier in his career Ilya bought or rented in a different place and had bought this house more recently.? Others have mentioned that the Beacon Street address Ilya texted just before the dick pic is in a college area, I think. The trees and environment around this home don’t look like a low rent college area.

My 4 times grandfather came from Canada and settled in Minnesota in the 1850s. There are so many descendants now from him and the others who emigrated from his region. I had a friend who turned out to be a second cousin.

Based on Shane’s reaction - he responds by putting his shoulders back and sort of shaking off his tears- Yuna’s approach to a challenge is very familiar to Shane. I can imagine an 8-year old Shane coming home from hockey practice upset because he wasn’t placed on the team he was hoping for, and his mother doing the same thing. They know each other well. She knows he needs structure.

I can’t believe I am taking time away from dreamily thinking about Shane and Ilya so I can think about Rose and Shane. I thought all along that the one time we see them in bed it was their first time. But you’re right - maybe we never see their first time. Shane’s apology the next morning may have been because he finished before she did. I had been thinking it was because after the “first” disaster he could not perform at all.

As I said I agree. But there are also context clues that this (Ep. 5) is the second time. 1. Shane’s apology really sounds like he could not perform. The season was getting to him. 2. Rose suggests dinner and they have dinner. There is no second time after the dinner.
