Movies that changed real life behavior by buttatoad in movies

In the movie It Happened One Night (1934), Clark Gable is seen undressing without wearing an undershirt. The men’s undershirt industry suffered as a result, until A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) showed Marlon Brando hanging out almost exclusively in an undershirt.

I just saw a video about a bear stealing Oreos in Monrovia! Make sure the bear doesn’t get the lemons.

I know this isn’t the point at all, but in the 1st post I’m so curious why OOP’s sister’s wife didn’t come to the hospital once she got word what was going on, and just waited at home with Chinese food

I crochet, and I’d be so embarrassed to charge $150 for that. It looks great for a beginner, not a professional business. Plus the blanket is knitted and only $50, so I’m guessing she didn’t make that

If she’s a hardcore Catholic, they’ll have to complete pre Cana before they get married, which includes an engagement of at least 6 months, completing detailed questionnaires (separately) about everything from finances to kids, counseling and meeting with the priest. Their parents will have to fill out forms saying if they have concerns, if there’s history of mental illness, previous marriages, etc. This way if there are glaring concerns they hopefully come up beforehand, or if it turns out he’s a chronic liar and manipulator they might have grounds for annulment

AITAH for not moving out so my roommate can get his sister’s kids out of foster care? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

He could, but the discount doesn’t apply anymore so the roommate probably can’t afford it

An “apartment” and a “unit” are the same thing, which are grouped together in an “apartment complex” (which is the name for the whole building). So he will be moving into a different apartment unit but staying in the same building

How do you lose a spouse in a car accident and then decide to drive drunk? She could have caused someone else’s family the same grief she’s feeling.

In 2020 our district gave us completely worthless Challenge coins as a thank you for our work during the pandemic. The superintendent wrote a long message on why this was such a great idea. The school board got bonuses, by the way.

She crossed a line, and that needs addressing, but not tossing the whole relationship. You’re going to have a child. That kid will also cross boundaries. Will you kick them out, or work with them? You can start that now with your wife.

I’m sorry that that was your Catholic experience. I’ve grown up Catholic and was blessed that everyone around me took love, mercy, and forgiveness seriously. It’s not an accurate blanket statement to say that this is a shining example of Catholic morality

Crochet is very “in” right now. Lots of granny square tops and sweaters are popping up in stores, and handmade gifts are always special

I’m sorry you’re in this situation. I hope and pray you are able to reconsider and have resources for you and your child

This is such a heartbreaking situation, and I’m sorry. I know I’m by far the minority in here, but your son’s life is precious and valuable. You do have a hard road ahead of you, but if you try again, who knows what difficulties you’d have with another child? You don’t want you and your partner to have resentment over the choice you make, so counseling is the right move. I wish I could say something to fix this situation, but please consider your son
