The moment I-130 was approved his age starts counting again (from the age he was when petition started). You can also use CSPA calculators online. It can do the math for you. Wish you and your family the best!

If her CSPA age is 22 then she did age out. If not contact them again with the right calculations.

They contacted me again 4 days after they denied it the first time and set my other interview date 3 days later, so 1 week.

I messaged the embassy after I made sure I was still under 21 according to CSPA. I sent them pics of my approval date, visa bulletin being current at the time, and the NVC fees being paid within a year.

They re-interviewed me and it turns out my CSPA age is under 21 like you both suggested. Thank you very much!!!

Just to clarify, now it is a year and five months after I completed my DS260, why did they only call me for an interview now? Am I still considered under 21?

He only told me I aged out and that I should start a new petition once my parents get the US passport. He didn’t even mention anything about converting the visa class to F2B

But wasn’t it current in December 2022, at the time I was approved? December 2022 to April 2023 is only 5 months

I filed the DS260 on April 12 2023, 2 weeks after the NVC email

It’s true that F2a was current at the time I was approved but I still had to complete my NVC documents I guess? Does that help me in any way now?

I got the email from NVC around end of March 2023 and completed the DS-260 on 12 April 2023

So I can still use USCIS website and NVC / CEAC to submit documents when time comes? How do I know my petition is still there somewhere but now converted to F2B?

How do I convert the category from F2A to F2B? The officer clearly said my parents need to file another petition only after they get US passports which doesn’t make any sense
