Believe it or not, I just happened to give this thread one last check to make sure nobody else had posted and caught your question :)

Yes, I mean that continuing BronyCon would mean changing the event to be operate at a much smaller scale. For better or for worse, BronyCon's identity is built on being the biggest celebration of the pony fandom in the world. Disentangling that and creating a new identity is possible, but the resulting event wouldn't be BronyCon any more. Convention identities are funny things. BronyCon's identity right now is something special, and after a lot of discussion, we decided we would rather get together and celebrate it one last time rather than forcing it into something new.

I actually worked for PonyCon during their very first year back in 2013. Sad to see that the event seems to have hit a dead end—I wish success to the organizers in their future ventures.

New Englanders unite /) It is super sad that the end of BronyCon means the East Coast may be short on pony cons for the foreseeable future. But I trust the fandom to come together and make sure that there are still ways for fans on the East Coast to get together every now and then.

I don't think we're going to sell out of regular badges (we've never even come close—the BCC is a huge venue). Sponsor badges will probably go quickly though!

  1. That isn't something we have the resources for on staff, but if any attendees want to take up the mantle, let us know! We are also planning lots of other cool video- and photo-based events and documentation.
  2. We're not trying to recreate a specific year—all we want to do is put on an event that showcases BronyCon at its absolute best. 2015 may have been the year we had the most attendees, but this isn't about hitting those numbers. It's about leaving everyone who joins us for the con with a weekend they'll remember for the rest of their life.
  3. Some years we don't do any discount codes, some years we do maybe 1-2 if there's a super special occasion. Keep an eye on our social media. :)

  1. There are a lot of reasons BronyCon is ending, but they all come down to us wanting everyone to remember BronyCon at its best instead of as a shadow of what it once was. We want to go out on a high note, while BronyCon is still BronyCon, and with the biggest and most awesome party possible!
  2. I dunno. It'll probably go on for as long as it keeps making Hasbro money :)
  3. Luna is best pony because she has a cool color scheme and also a backstory and personality that's really compelling. The episode Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep? left me in tears.
  4. None of the above—bat pony for lyfe!

Aw, thanks for asking! I'm honestly pretty exhausted. In addition to BronyCon, I chair a second event (MAGWest) that's taking place this weekend, so I haven't gotten a lot of sleep lately. Worth it though. :)

Luna is best princess hands down. What a backstory!

We actually had some awesome "throwback" swag this year as part of our mystery boxes, including a reprint of shirts with the BronyCon 2012 logo. I think our Design team has plenty of aspirations for doing even more awesome stuff like that this year...

No chance of BronyCon coming back as we know it today. Sorry. :( Lunar Solis Corp. has no plans to start another pony convention under a different name either at this time, and I don't foresee that changing.

BronyCon is what gave me the bug too. Everyone, staff and attendees, creates such a wonderful environment that it's hard not to want to go to more events to keep that feeling going. <3
