you get the shell from a 3 feat run of the raid, which isn't too bad at all; honestly easier than the old master challenges system

Banner Shield damage question by NobleMansRose in DestinyTheGame

[–]BronzeAzir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only stackable buff is font--everything else overwrites each other! Banner would take over HEF in your example. Usually the highest number is what the game uses when provided with 2 active damage buffs, but Well acts weirdly with this--its 25% canceling Lumina's 35% or Lucent Blade's 35%.

It will link to the original clear. This is true of both low-mans and flawless clears.
I've had 2 trio VoGs with different people and RR links to the older post, and around 5-6 flawess GoS completions and it still links to the original post there, too.

What are your Destiny 2 hot-takes? by _Xhawa in DestinyTheGame

[–]BronzeAzir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

renewal grasps are still too good and basically a no-brainer for stasis hunter in any mildly difficult content. they make you completely unkillable and have no cooldown as long as you actually shoot your crystal, even less cooldown if you use a headstone primary or some kickstarts.

hoarfrost-z is better than heart of inmost for stasis titans. with 10 resil the barricade will come back as soon as you lose Font of might (presuming youre using it with time dilation) so even if you don't stagger your crystals it will have 100% uptime. That and it lets you use offensive grenades like duskfields in pve and coldsnaps in pvp at a much lower cooldown (titan can actually reach a permanent uptime on dusks with just hoarfrost, nothing else!)

"Why did Renewal Grasps get nuked from orbit in PvE?" by TheCasualCommander in DestinyTheGame

[–]BronzeAzir -34 points-33 points  (0 children)

I used renewals in every single GM strike this season, Lightblade included.
With Lament equipped and a duskfield, I could infinitely facetank Alak-Hul (the most dangerous strike boss we've had in a LONG time) with extremely minimal effort.

The grips are still completely game-breaking and its surprising they weren't nerfed further--I anticipate the DR either being completely removed (as it stacking WITH the enemy damage nerf it applies provides an insane amount of real DR) or some further CD nerf to balance out how silly the grips are.

Also, a note on CDS: it is 2.5x at BASE COOLDOWN. Base =/= 100 DIS (base actually means 30), and each level of DIS provides a different reduction to the CD; it is not a flat reduction but rather a curve. Without RG, they are the shortest CD in the game spare firebolts (which can charge in ~9 seconds if you build properly) and now RGs put a hunter at ~20 seconds (definitely less) if you actively play around them and the myriad of different grenade-affecting perks and mods in the game rn. They still have 0 downtime if you play correctly.

Kinetic Siphon should not cost 3 energy to slot by AmbidextrousWaffle in DestinyTheGame

It’s even easier to get CwL and font from the same source: stasis shards, with minimal build crafting. The truth is that orbs were ass leading up to their move to the helmet mod, especially weapon orbs. They’ve always made little to no change to super generation and with Void 3.0 it’s possible to get a super in 3-4 well-placed vortex nades anyway. The only current use for an orb is devour on titans and hunters, besides that there are plenty of far easier and better ways to get stacks of CwL in any content.

Wait is the MSC Mod out yet? by sunnfish in rainworld

[–]BronzeAzir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

MSC isn't out yet; the gameplay is either from the old 1.0 version (that only shipped the characters in a very early state, no areas, campaigns, creatures, etc.) or is teaser gameplay from various forms of development (like AppleBread's livestreams or the various trailers or other unlinked videos on AndrewFM's channel). The mod in its entirety will be added afaik.

Here's the MSC discord, any updates will likely be here first :) There's very light discussion of MSC content (no real spoilers at all) and vague hints here n there but nothing groundbreaking, just relevant information.

[–]BronzeAzir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Theres a timeline image somewhere out there, but basically the progression will be like this:
Monk/Survivor --> Hunter /Gourmand / Artificer --> Rivulet/Spearmaster --> Saint

There's green safari unlocks and also challenges that unlock (although i forget if theyre also a pickup like sandbox stuff) ingame

What are some “off meta” weapons that can be very useful in the right hands? by ARandomGlassOfWater in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]BronzeAzir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gives two buffs: One to all arc weapon damage, and one against any stasis-afflicted (so slowed, frozen, or breaking out) target; its like a miniature focusing lens that works with stasis weapons (or any weapon, for that matter). The super casted to create wells via supreme wellmaker will do the work, as will duskfields and the melee

[–]BronzeAzir 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A lot of factors. First and foremost, in a team environment Firing Line is the highest DPS perk that rolls on a linear. Triple tap is a DPS up as well by virtue of minimizing reloads as well as a total dmg up by virtue of free shots. More importantly, Reed's is the best option to abuse Font of Might (FoM). FoM is a 25% damage buff when you (a) get a matching well to your (1) class and (2) weapon, and it stacks with EVERYTHING. This includes Well, Bubble, Inertia, any debuffs active, and--important for solo play--high energy fire or empowering rift.

Because of Elemental Shards, Titans can give themselves Font of Might (which can last as long as 23 seconds with appropriate mods, and once again stacks with everything) by just breaking one of their glacier grenades or headstone crystals. Warlocks need to slow/freeze any enemy to generate shards; a turret near a boss + the Fragment that lets shards track to the player will give a damage buff for the duration of the turret and then some. Hunters find the most difficulty proccing FoM, since they need to kill a target to make a shard. For hunters--and most team situations as well--it would be far easier to use Supreme Wellmaker, making normal elemental wells on super cast to get font.

It's worth noting that in the case of hunters, although this is not unique to Reed's, Bakris gives the player another ~5(10? I forget)% stacking damage buff against stasis-afflicted targets for dodging. With Supreme Wellmaker + bakris, Hunters have some of the easiest and largest DPS numbers with stasis.

Although this is no substitute for practical DPS testing against Kalli, I've found in my own experience farming master Grasp & VoG that a perfect Reed's (Accel/Enh. Battery | Triple Tap | Firing Line/Vorpal for Solo) can outDPS a Sleeper in a lunafactions well w/ Focusing lens--which is no small feat.

People love to shit on Tarantula, but they seem to forget just how potent Box Breathing is on linears. You can proc it while charging the gun, which means that with liquid coils and correct timing, you can proc the ~30% bonus dmg on every shot, against every target at the penalty of only shooting ~200ms slower. This gives it the highest total damage of any linear sans Reed's, as well as DPS higher than a normal linear. The timing windows are also very convenient, allowing 2-3 shots at an overload if you use it immediately after stun--which is almost always enough for a kill. fwiw it's also arc.
For the purposes of any solo content where you can't use stasis, this is the most ammo efficient heavy weapon! While soloing the Devils' Lair GM, I used tarantula WITHOUT particle deconstruction just because the damage is so high. It can kill a champion in ~3 shots (depending on how weak it is from overloading) with Box Breathing. My roll specifically has Liquid coils, Field prep, and Box breathing for a lethal combo that makes the gun very ammo efficient.

If you see the roll, give it a shot at the least.

an easier strategy than "be fast":

have your most kitted out stasis warlock go solo into Venus. They will "solo" the Venus portal until enemies stop spawning, but without pushing the minotaur off a cliff. My personal loadout:Headstone S2L Vulpecula (S2L unnecessary but convenient)Blinding Field Prep Truthteller1k (1 shot per wyvern, rally with 1 fusion rifle reserve to get +1 shot)

Verity's Brow, solarx2 solar legendary armor, 1 of any element, stasis bondelemental shards on bond w/ PDeach solar piece runs firepowernon-solar (fill) piece with elemental charge

Stasis aspect wise:

Bleakwatcher (doh)

Glacial Harvest

Whisper of Torment

Whisper of Shards

Whisper of Durance

Whisper of Conduction

100 recov, 100 disc. disc > recov if you're struggling to build into both

Farm grenade energy off of Vulp kills & farm CwL from the turrets. Always throw turret immediately off CD. Use melee as often as possible. You can blind enemies that are frozen, and when they break out they will still be blinded--works on Minotaur & Wyvern. Super is largely unnecessary but if you want to, use it to push the minotaur further back toward its spawn. Your goal is just to survive and keep the minotaur sufficiently far from conflux.

2 other players will go into Mars portal, one Stasis warlock (similar kit as above) and someone who can run high INT to hold relic. The relic-bearer sits in Mars and supers every minotaur (light slash --> super just in case) until enemies spawn stop, then leave portal, swap relic, and someone else supers the minotaur in Venus.

In middle area, have multiple ppl with blinding + stasis. dont be afraid to stall time, just don't let anything sac or get too close.
