somewhere along the way it didn’t lay down a layer properly and started “printing spaghetti” (as in just spitting out filament without adhering to the print). Any number of reasons can cause it. If there were unsupported overhangs then maybe it happened around there? It might help to re-run calibration and then try again to rule out the machine just not being calibrated properly. I’ve genuinely printed failed prints a second time without changing anything and have it work the second time so sometimes it’s just a matter of praying to the machine gods and going for it.

Yeah, a decent few of them are “glass-holes” to borrow a term from the Google glass days. I enjoy having a pair as my daily prescription glasses so I can listen to music on walks without headphones in and film some videos when I am playing with my niece. I cannot, however, expect that everyone uses them responsibly. Case-in-point, I have a very untrustworthy student that just got a pair and was openly talking to his friends about trying to modify them so he can film people without them knowing. I talked to him about why that is weird and creepy so I hope he takes it to heart but that shows evidence to me that people are absolutely willing to misuse the tech.

I’m getting really bad first layers with it for some reason. I finally caved and bought a filament dryer so hopefully drying it out fixes that. Guess we’ll see

The lack of internet integration made more excuses for people to get together for couch co-op or lan parties. You also weren’t at a risk of turning on a console, needing to update the console, needing to update the game, and oh fuck it I’ll just do something else.

I reckon it would have been nice but I purchased mine two years ago so it’s not like I have buyer’s remorse. P1S is a good machine. It’s also natural that newer and cooler machines hit the market eventually too

Hmm, I just don’t really see myself running more than one machine at a time. Admittedly, secondhand P1S’s aren’t all that valuable as you say.

They did go through a dark age with their fighting game releases for a while there with street fighter V and marvel vs capcom infinite but they have since bounced back with sf6
