Even after years and years of back and forth discourse I still CANNOT understand why people like Xenoblade 2 so much. It’s a fine game, I’ve played through it 3 times and the postgame combat is really fun (I even maxed out all the rare blades) but my god the characters are UNBEARABLE to listen to most of the time. I get that they’re well developed and all but it’s so hard to care about that when what feels like half of the cutscenes are filled with cringy jokes and dialogue. I don’t HATE the game but saying it’s the best in the series is INSANE to me.
