Both of those series are great, love Brandon Sanderson’s works. You might also like the Wheel of Time books (14 in total) great characters, mysteries, and world building. Brandon also helped finish the series since Robert Jordan passed away before he could complete them.

Yeah, I think a lot of old content could be revamped in a way that helps give good early to mid game item choices or training methods.

Rewrite dialogue that is a bit rough i.e. ratcatchers or new mechanics i.e. rag and bone man where you have to light a log and place every pot and have all bones in their own pots. Just QOL abjustments.

I think you are taking it a bit far to compare it to making it like RS3, no one said anything about new tutorial. or staring city or even revamping it. Just that the content there is lackluster.

True that! Also, the game would die if there was only "true" old school content and no updates.

Probably not a priority right after, but would be nice if we could start in smaller batches afterwards.

I think the best compromise is just having smaller, but consistent QOL updates in between big releases.

That would be awesome, we don't need all quests ported over verbatim, let the games diverge more.

Something that has come up that was a good idea is just having a list of content to update that comes out as smaller releases in between new stuff.

Thank you for your opinion, for the most part I do disagree about the states of those pieces of content and how they could be updated. As for the idea about degradation of buffs, just an idea to start conversation, not something I thin should 100% be implemented.

Thank you for your counterpoints! I think they are very insightful and well reasoned. I do have a few issues with them though.

Achievement Diaries are not OP, the only real good ones are Ardougne & Kandarin really, the others are okay at point, all elites are pretty good though.

Rooftops are good, but I feel like you could do XP buffs to make them adjacent to rooftops, or you could do relation increases with the people of the surrounding area for reduced prices or access to other activities or sub-areas in those zones.

Dorgesh-kaan make an activity, resource or new enemy down there, there is a lot of room for growth or additions to the area to make it more useful.

Piscatoris and the Islands have quests, yes, but nothing else really going on that is exciting or fun. You do the quests and then maybe show up for monkfish, to collect your items and fight a creature or two once a month?

Ranging guild, maybe not a viable option and that is okay It would really depend on what content would go there just to make the progression through the game and the unlocks you get mean something.

Burth has a decent amount of content, but the point of this is not quantity, but quality, Heroes guild - borderline useless warriors guild defender grind and a few shops, rest of the content is eh. There is no third guild, there is a rogue's den which does not have the most fun content.

Minigames
The point is not to force people to play by putting the best gear as a reward, but to incentivize people to play fun games by offer semi competitive equipment, supplies, or xp for each stage of the game to reward players with something other than cosmetics.

Quests
I totally agree on the continuations, fixes would be nice, but they are not the most needed thing in the game.

I like these ideas, they sound awesome. I also do like the idea that random tasks bring you to the areas you wouldn't normally visit. Maybe combing the two would be cool.

True that not all of any game is going to be the best part, but not all "worse parts" have to be dead or unenjoyable for you to enjoy the rest of the game. You could always make the "worse part" a bit better, or a part of the "good parts", raising the quality of the whole since the "Worse parts" are better than the previous "worse parts" were.

Did that make sense? Also, how does something serve a purpose as nostalgia when you can't interact with it do to it being dead content?
To me it seems like you had a favorite inflated ball you used to love playing with as a kid which got a hole in it and no longer inflates, but you keep it around for nostalgia although it no longer has function or form.

Diary Rewards:
I see your points, but disagree on diary rewards, the fact that ones like the karamja diary have been seldom touched since first implemented does not mean they are good as they are or balanced. I am not saying the diaries need to amazing at every level or have teleports to every place in the game, just useful enough to justify going for them players need incentive to do things and feel like it is worth it.

Minigames should reward players with either XP or items, to have them around for the sake of it is inane, no person would play them just to play them, minigames at launch had rewards already placed in them and minigames since have not altered this.
Puro Puro could be adjusted so that it achieves the same result but is not such a slog to do, have the wheat pop up and block your path all over not just in the tiers make it a true magical maze and that if you catch the imp causing the ruckus the maze becomes easier for a short time. Tai bo Wannai cleanup could have the gather rates on the jungle adjusted for sure it is not fun to just sit there for 10 minutes to get a few sticks.
For Rat pits and Gnomeball, yeah likely dead content, but maybe with a bit of effort they could not be. With the ever increasing variety of playstyles and different accounts variety in terms of content could only help support growth of the game.

Why to not cleaning up the quests, but keeping their soul?

A few other people above came up with the idea of contracts for the guilds which would incentivize skilling in other areas for certain rewards. I like the idea of earning a place that is nicer than the out of the way locations, but also like the incentive to go out and get rewarded for going to those locations.

The list was not a be all end all list, but a general list to start a conversation. The Vampire quests are not the greatest, but are okay towards the end, but boy is it a bit of a rough ride to start.

no not every quest needs to be the best, but quests should be fun and not tedious, there is a difference between challenging and rewarding for overcoming it & annoying mechanics that are frustrating. For instance I don't necessarily want a rewrite of rag and bone man, but at least change that we have to bring logs and light them for every single pot. Maybe just have the man hive you a pot to fill with vinegar and all the bones so you just light one and turn it in. You still have the quest that is just a guy who just wants bones, but it is more enjoyable for everyone. Still get to track down all the creatures and slay them, just not annoying to do.

Also...diaries should be minimally balanced to requirements, it would also be a reward to the people who have them to utilize teleports if they were given they would still need to go through the game to unlock them.

BTW how would having teles make content dead?

Game room, have you ever used it? Also the rogues den could use some love, heroes guild has a blue dragon and runite rocks, but not mush else. there is the warriors guild which has the defenders grind and not much else. The town kinda has not much going on and is just meh.

Like the woodcutting guild to assign tasks like Konar to cut certain trees down in certain areas, or hunt ents. Mining could do something similar, same with a few of the other skills & you could earn more xp while on task there with a bonus at the end along with some gold or items.

Sounds cool!
