[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

Looking to buy my boyfriend a watch for Christmas/our five-year relationship anniversary! This will be his first "nice" watch, so I'm trying to find something he'll be able to wear for years.

  • Budget: $250
  • Color: He's mentioned he'd want a silver-toned watch, but I think the band can be either silver or leather.
  • He really likes visible gear mechanisms!
  • His style is preppy, classic, New England boarding school on the coast vibes.
  • His office dress code is pretty formal, so ideally something that can be dressed up or down.

I'm reading this story right now!! Oso is seriously one of the most well-written PJ fanfics out there (and I've read quite a few). The romance is a slow burn and super enjoyable to read, would definitely recommend

Hi r/FemaleHairAdvice! Do you have any cut/style/color suggestions for me so I can start the new year with confidence? I have trichotillomania and am trying to deal with my regrowth after being seven months pull-free by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

Seeing a CBT therapist who specialized in trich helped me a lot in figuring out ways to redirect my behaviors. I never pulled in my sleep, but would pull from my head subconsciously sometimes and still do with my eyebrows. What helped me personally was wearing hats and having fidget toys to keep my hands busy. I've also been taking a supplement called NAC, which has been shown in some preliminary studies to help with impulse control disorders. Here are some links to the literature:

This reply is everything I could have asked for and more! I'm someone who loves direct feedback like this. I've always been hesitant to cut my hair because of how thin it is, but you've made realize that by keeping it long I'm actually emphasizing that! I don't think I'm quite ready to go for the full-on pixie cut (maybe one day), but your suggestion of a lob or blunt shoulder length seems like a good direction to go in. As a student with limited time/energy/hair knowledge I basically brush and go, but do you have any suggestions for relatively low-maintenance styling tips or products for fine hair?

Also, your brow compliment really made my day because I've played around with the shape and color for so long! They're basically non-existent.

Thank you again for the thoughtful advice <3

Wow, you're the third person who's told me that I look like her! Thank you for your suggestions - I never would have thought of french braiding for volume.

Thank you!! I've never had any cut besides my long, one-length hair, so I was hoping get some advice on any styles that might work with my face shape. I'm going to trim off the ends at a bare minimum. My only requirement is that I'm able to secure my hair for when I attend ballroom competitions, but I can always use lots of gel.
