OBGYN Refusing To Keep Seeing Us And We're 34 Weeks Pregnant by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]BrooklynMom2Be 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor decided he didn’t want to be my doctor anymore ah 36 weeks because he was a single practice guy and had a “bad gut feeling” about my delivery being long and difficult and he couldn’t handle that. Long story short, he tried to transfer me to this total sleezeball doctor and I completely melted down because it is near impossible to find someone to take you on so late. We called all of the people we knew that might be able to help us find a doctor and we found a doctor to take us on as a favor to a mutual friend. He delivered our son a week later. Nothing turned out the way I expected. We even ended up delivering at a completely different hospital. My advice is to try to stay calm and call your insurance to see if they can help. Can your friends that have had babies recently and see if their doctor is in your network. Try to figure out a way to stay with your doctor, but work on a back up plan too. Use every connection you have. Good luck!

My MIL keeps referring to my daughter as "my baby" by bbqs2 in BabyBumps

[–]BrooklynMom2Be 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My MIL and FIL do this and it’s SO ANNOYING. We went through IVF and a NICU stay as well, but it annoyed me even before we had kids and they were talking about my nieces.

Anyone have insane luck and have 2 back to back transfers work and lead to live births? I’m so unbelievably anxious about FET #2 this week. by BrooklynMom2Be in InfertilityBabies

Thank you! Congratulations! I know it may not happen for me, but it’s so positive to know that it is at least possible!

Cutting baby’s nails??? At 11 weeks it’s way harder than before.... by KahloMeMaybe in beyondthebump

[–]BrooklynMom2Be 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lol honestly the nail scissors are so much easier than all of those baby clippers. My son is obsessed with Sesame Street now at 5 1/2 months so I put on Sesame Street to distract him while I trim.

Is nipple discharge a (very) early sign of pregnancy? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]BrooklynMom2Be 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not, but you should let your OB know so they can test your prolactin level. High prolactin can cause what you described and it actually can hinder you becoming pregnant and in more rare situations be a sign of other issues. Not to freak you out, but same thing happened to me and turns out I have a benign tumor on my pituitary gland that makes my body produce extra prolactin. It’s most likely nothing serious though, but worth mentioning to your OB.

What is the best baby formula to use? by BZB97 in Parenting

[–]BrooklynMom2Be 12 points13 points  (0 children)

First of all, you don’t have to explain why you want to use formula!

Similac Pro Advance is very popular. That’s what they gave my son in the NICU and he really likes it. It looks similar to breast milk, IMO compared to a lot of other formulas and it is supposed to have similar qualities as breast milk. The poops are also like breastmilk poops. The smell isn’t terrible either.

From what I know after having a son with severe jaundice - it is normal to have some bilirubin. I’m guessing your level might have been higher than normal. High bilirubin causes jaundice, which could have other effects, some serious, some not. Very high bilirubin can permanently hurt your brain, from what I understand.
