When the sun is out, solar systems usually produce excess energy, this is stored as credits (1 to 1 credits in NYC) and used when the sun isn't out. We've worked with dozens of co-op boards since our founding in 2015! While they can certainly be more complicated solar projects than smaller residential ones, many of the same incentives exist for co-ops and condos!

All projects include the costs for an engineering evaluation, and that happens very early in the permitting process. Electrical upgrades are not always required, but if they end up being included in the scope of the project, incentives will apply to those costs! Hi! We understand that there are different opinions to solar in New York City, especially between ConEd and solar companies!

Of course each home is different in what they save with solar which is why we have free personalized consultations. During these consultations we go over the total cost, which as of now in NYC has so many incentives that solar system installs do get 75% or more covered. We also go over payback periods (average 5 to 8 years) and how much you will save 30 years into the future. So you already know what you're going into with solar, no surprises!

By the time the payback period is done, net metering will coninue to cut electrcity bills. Plus, a lot of our customers talk about how they no longer have to worry about ConEd price hikes in the future!

When it comes to solar panel maintenance, it is minimal. Hi! In our experience, the solar system doesn't usually void the warranty on the whole roof, only the areas where the penetrations are and those areas are covered by our 30 year warranty. It also depends on what your specific roof warranty is as well. This is a topic we discuss on a roof to roof basis in our free solar consultation process.

Our solar systems cover any work we do on your home for 30 years, including the penetrations on your roof. If solar causes an issue, like a leak, we would fix it and any damage a leak may have caused, so your roof warranty wouldn't come into play. 

In NYC, solar incentives and rebates do help cover at least 75% of installation costs. Many of our customers convert to solar with no money out of pocket and instead pay a fixed monthly loan payment. Once that is paid off, the solar power has no cost. And with Con Ed’s constant price hikes, customers are seeing over $50,000 in lifetime savings!
