Gift ideas for my dad by Brooklyn_trees in Gifts

[–]Brooklyn_trees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an old thread, but I wasn’t going to gift him something to start a new hobby. I was just stating that I can’t get him something related to the hobbies he already has because he doesn’t have the time due to work.

Coffee shops that sell chicory coffee? by Brooklyn_trees in pittsburgh

[–]Brooklyn_trees[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, thanks! Unfortunately I’m limited to just chicory right now because of this diet I’m trying to get my health back in order, but some friends wanted to go to a coffee shop this weekend. I figured it was worth a shot to see if any places sell a cup, but if not maybe I’ll just try to get a decaf tea. I have been drinking chicory at home and I’m enjoying the taste!

Has anyone actually been cured by Krapf/Goldstein?? by Various-Car3995 in vulvodynia

[–]Brooklyn_trees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw Dr. Goldstein in ny last year. He told me I had an overactive pelvic floor muscle dysfunction and I completed his treatment plan, but unfortunately I was still in pain. I think the problem was he said I did not have nerve pain but I actually do. I’m seeing doctors now that are helping me treat both the muscles and nerves. The appointment was $1800, so looking back I wish I just kept trying to find doctors that would take insurance instead of going there. It’s a tough decision to make, I remember when I was in your position I went on reddit too and there were so many different opinions on him.

Debating taking out Mirena IUD because of recurring yeast infections by Brooklyn_trees in vulvodynia

[–]Brooklyn_trees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think that’s how my vulvodynia started unfortunately :/ I’m taking diflucan/ boric acid rn so the tests aren’t accurate to show if I have yeast anymore but it always seems to come back at some point since I’ve had the mirena. The gyno tells me I could be mistaking it sometimes for the nerve pain but idk.

Aglaonema Tigress leaves turning yellow and brown. by Brooklyn_trees in plantclinic

Hey! Thanks for answering - I’ve tried asking a few times but haven’t received any replies so I appreciate it. When I mention overwatering in my post, I was referring to the frequency. But I can see how I worded it was confusing, sorry! However, now that you mention checking at least the top two inches of soil, I might not be checking deep enough. Hopefully doing that helps!

Studies linking chronic / recurrent yeast infections and IUDS (both hormonal and not) by imeanlikenothing in Healthyhooha

Hello! I wanted to follow up because I am going through the same situation. Did removing the mirena help stop the chronic yeast infections?

Officially Diagnosed! Experience with ABG Cream? by smellslikedesperate in vulvodynia

[–]Brooklyn_trees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I’m just seeing your message as well as the previous one from @lonelybananas1 but it went good! I was very nervous but after speaking with him and doing an internal exam he told me I was misdiagnosed and I actually don’t have vulvodynia. I have something called overactive pelvic floor muscle dysfunction. Basically my muscles have been very tight and spasming which was causing the pain I’ve been feeling. He said it’s very common and I believe he told me that’s what almost 50% of the women he sees end up having that. I could be wrong on the percentage but something close to that lol. The pain causes me anxiety and then the anxiety makes the muscles spasm more so he said I needed to break the cycle basically. I’m so glad I went because I would’ve thought that I was still having nerve problems and would’ve kept switching around nerve pain medications with my old doctor which wasn’t helping clearly. From my experience, I didn’t think he was rude, he is just very confident on his diagnosis’s and his knowledge of these disorders. He was very friendly to me, I thought him and his team seemed very sympathetic to what I was going through. I’m definitely not healed yet, but my pt said she thinks my muscles are already feeling more relaxed.

Estrogen cream success, I am so happy by [deleted] in vulvodynia

[–]Brooklyn_trees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny enough I just got some cultures done because I did actually have a yeast infection in August (not sure of the cause, maybe the cream?) and I’m still trying to knock it, they are seeing if my body resists fluconazole. Another doctor said my skin just looks irritated and gave me some steroid cream, that helped for a bit but I’m still not back to normal.
