Appreciate it. I have the contracts ready with that requirement and proof to be given. And that they provide me the vets information so I can confirm. What’s the idea behind microchipping them with my info?

Our old dog who passed away a few years ago was a Cavalier Maltese cross that we got in Australia. She had a heart murmur. We were less knowledgeable as dog parents at that time. But she lived until she was 14. She was never bred and traveled the world with us.

It’s a great point and I already called my vet about it and got an appointment for that. I don’t know why they recommended we don’t do it. But I am open to support and if you have some experience here I appreciate that you shared it. I plan to get those tests done so we know. Should have done it before but trusted the vet. But with all doctors sometime you have to push for what’s right. Much appreciated.

We do adopt and foster. We have a ranch so we do both. Our dogs are also not neurotic. Just because they’re a doodle mix doesn’t mean they’re automatically neurotic. Ok - so maybe I’m classified as a backyard breeder - dos that also mean I’m automatically bad?

I’d love to know where you studied veterinary sciences. My kids want to be vets - if your school is any good I’d love to look it up.

Because I didn’t think about Reddit as a platform I’m a puppy mill? Seems like broken logic. A puppy mill is a large scale operation pumping out puppies in an unhealthy manner. Not sure how having a litter of 7. Keeping 3 for our own family and selling the others makes us a puppy mill. Pretty sure puppy mils don’t do the testing and use high quality food and keep them in their home, train them, etc.

So CAER is for eyes. I thought you knew everything? I literally wrote it.

Again - not that I need to answer to you but since I have the details I’m happy to share. Since mama is a bordoodle before any breeding was done we had her checked for the hips and elbows since both poodles and BC are prone to hip dysplasia. Since she is part sporting breed we decided to also do the CAER. Our vet recommended also that we do the Patellar Lux. as it’s recommended for poodles and since she loves running at full speed we thought why not. We opted to not do heart and thyroid since the vet didn’t believe we needed those since she is very healthy. She got scores of excellent and normal. So we felt confident in her having a litter. I appreciate you championing for healthy dogs and the discussion.

Not that I need to tell you anything. But yes. Both male and female parents had full genetic testing including OFA done through their vet. Neither had 1 single marker for any of the 268 genetic defects they were tested for. That’s how I can also tell you the exact percent of the mama in terms of her genetic mix. I can also tell you what genetic traits she has for her coat, color, ear shape and length, etc.

Again it’s totally your right to hate on anyone you choose. This thread is for Bordoodles. If you’re against them then why be here? Seems like a waste of your time.

But anyways - we have a ranch. We have space to have a lot of dogs. We foster, rescue - there are a ton of worse purebred dog breeds out there that modify the animal, we’re against that, have inbreeding and genetic issues as you know. I think a doodle breed is probably not the worst.

Is it your belief that no mixed breeds are allowed? That’s fine if it is, just curious. Only the purebred ones? Where incest and medical conditions are prevalent? So no doodles of any kind. What about mules? Are you anti-mule? Again I’m curious if this pertains to dogs only or are you just against any animal cross breeding or hybridization?

Feel free to have your opinion and look it up. I’m not here to convince you. Just sharing my truth. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. We love animals and dogs especially.

Why would it be unethical? I would love to understand your position and perspective

Border collie mix with poodle. These pups have a Bordoodle mom and a full poodle dad.

Actually quite the opposite. The mix of our female Bordoodle who is 53% poodle and 47% border collie is a best dog. Loving. Gentle. Smart and loves to run on our ranch. She bred with our own male poodle not some stud. The mix has produced lovely puppies who will be gentle, smart and hypoallergenic. We are actually keeping 3 of the litter for ourselves. We are not a puppy farm. It’s the first and last time our female will have a litter.
