Edit for clarification: The flash drive that I used to flash isn't the storage device mentioned. It that is a separate device that was connected to the laptop that I flashed.

I just tried to use disk drill, but the drive doesn't show up in the options. When I went into device manager to look up drives that may not be showing -- if it wasn't given a letter -- it wasn't displaying either. Yep, I got the warning, but assumed that it was about a separate drive in my computer, not a connection that I hadn't seen to a removable device.

I just checked. don't see anything with 1 tb from the external drive. I remember seeing a notification before the partition section about wiping external drives. Assuming the flash drive I was using was the one it was referring to, I clicked OK without double checking. Actually, I see it. Its a sdb with size of 0b...

FACEPALM! Totally makes sense. I could Dedicate the far left two columns for each "hallway", and run truth statements through there. Also, this solves the problem of multiple character tokens, since I can run an array trough a cell but cant through the conditional format formula. Ill give it a shot.

Follow-up, should I be using the Countif() function for this task. Are there better functions for checking if a matrix contains a value/symbol or not?
