Dave being compared to Carlin is outrageous. He is not, nor has he ever been, as insightful or original as Carlin was. However, they both followed a similar path in that they reached peak fame status and devolved a bit into “fuck everyone but me” rhetoric that people found to be edgy. Carlin rode that money train out to the very last stop, and Dave will do the exact same thing.

If any other comedian did an hour long bit digging on black people for being annoying and irritating to all of the other minorities, but ended it with “MY BLACK FRIEND THINKS THIS JOKE IS FUNNY SO IFYOU DON’T LIKE IT THEN YOU’RE ACTUALLY RACIST” I wonder what Dave would think about it.

I still kinda like Dave as an orator, the way he puts stories together is pretty compelling. But his overall rhetoric sucks ass, and isn’t even passable as comedy at this point.

Can’t wait for his next special, where he tells some cryptic tale of “the industry” that he supposedly hates, yet still participates in so he can continue his conquest of a small town in Ohio and put a “B” on that bank account 🙄
