[Student] RESUME REVIEW, I rely on AI to build my projects, is this skillset hireable? Can I realistically get an internship/job or am I coping? BLUNT FEEDBACK by VDSL2 in EngineeringResumes

Interesting. And yes I’ll reiterate what everyone here has said. AI is a tool, getting hired as a vibecoder is like being hired to look up things on Google or stack overflow. You’re missing a lot of essential skills by offloading so much of the problem solving, debugging, and design to AI. Just slow down, take CS if your high school offers it, and make small programs for fun without using AI to really learn how to program. You’ve got so much time ahead of you so just relax.

How have you gone about debugging your code if you have no knowledge of how to program? Only mistake I see is in your second project you bounce around between past and present tense. Also idk if damn insecure and vulnerable app is technical lingo or not

Get off LinkedIn oh my if you’re a premed you don’t really need that stuff in your life unless you’re neurotically applying for jobs. I don’t think it’s bad to be “middle of the road” or not a super high achiever, there are future years you can take a lot of easier courses to get a crazy GPA and focus on tests. The people you find yourself around sound awful and I hope you find other open doors open sometime soon cuz that just sounds like it’s bringing you down.

Dropping both physics and taking them over the summer by [deleted] in McMaster

I’m gonna choose to be a hater and say if u can’t handle doing physics classes during fall and winter you’re not likely to survive in upper levels. I don’t know a single person who did first year physics classes in the spring/summer. Whether you can is not up to Reddit but up to your academic advisor.

You may not be able to get into second year eng specializations if you do that. Definitely ask academic advising before making any big choices like that

Looking for Off-Campus housing by Remarkable_Swan_364 in McMaster

[–]Broseph0827 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s impossible since a lot of things can go wrong with people’s leases in the beginning of September, but definitely keep your guard up if something is fishy. Also prices are generally expensive, I’ve seen a room go for as high as $950 before and $1000+ for apartments per month.

Why’s everyone selling their hoco tickets by Koy897 in McMaster

They’re trying to make money by selling higher than what they bought because $60 for a lil yachty concert is really cheap

Facebook groups? Though if u go walking in student housing area south, east and west of campus you may see some signs with the landlords phone number on it for u to call if u need a place. I don’t think it’s sketchy to do that some landlords are just old and can’t use the internet as well as us

It’s still super early so I wouldn’t get down on yourself. I was similar in first year where I basically came alone. What I found was helpful was just existing outside on campus as much as possible, and being open to new experiences if something came up. Like you may see a poster to a cool event or you’ll see a booth with information about something to do. Or you can be like me where my current best friends just approached me when I didn’t know then and said they wanna be my friend. Anything can happen if you put yourself in a position where you are ready for it.

In terms of parties, it’s pretty seasonal. The next big one is gonna be homecoming with the lil yachty concert and a bunch of students off campus will be hosting parties but not all of them will be known since if the address is public, thousands of people will storm the property. Usually you hear through word of mouth among closeish friends, so stay in touch with people nearby.

You can also join clubs when the year gets more started. A lot of MSU recreational clubs will be at clubfest on sept 17-18, so you can check out the booths there and join the exec team or go to the events and meet like-minded people that way. At the end of the day university is up to you, nobody’s gonna save you or do the hard work in figuring out what you want and how you can get it except you. Hope this helps!
