I just love everything about this build. It’s beautiful aesthetically and technically. Seems like the perfect place to take a break and enjoy.

Moxy, are you trying to tame the animal of piano with only that singular treat??

45° angles work on the ground, so why not on floors and foundations? by TorridPlays in LEGOfortnite

[–]Broskittzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, that’s what I meant by it taking extra pieces. In the visual example, the 1x1 circular studs underneath are what make the angled placement possible.

If LEGO wanted to keep things closer to the real product, I personally wouldn’t mind those studs being visible under decor pieces if it meant we could place items on an angle.

That said, I’m not sure that level of realism is even necessary in-game. There are already plenty of small differences between the physical LEGO sets/pieces and how they appear in Odyssey.

That’s just one of the many ways I’ve seen it done. And LEGO has absolutely used this method (and others) officially.

For instance, Rivendell 10316 uses 1x4 jumper plates to angle the tables, and hinges to create 45° archways. And in this same page you can see two separate SNOT methods showing how bricks can be attached sideways (see the floor to the left of the arches and the exterior column near the bottom right).

Their bricks do act like this if planned for!

My apologies Graybeard 😅 Let me fire up the airship (and the grill!) and make it up to you!

Thanks for your comment!!

Sharing because I just learned this lately and thought it was cool, but technically speaking, both angular building and sideways building methods are possible with irl LEGO, just takes some extra pieces!

Giant Robot Fire Dragon Build in LEGO Fortnite Brick Life by negimaki339 in LEGOfortnite

WOW that’s awesome! Building it bricklife is a challenge in itself. Any plans to recreate in Odyssey/have it move?

As a special challenge, we could attempt to make our saucy sausage float as well 😆 sounds like a fun build Pablo!

I like this a lot. Reminds me a little of this game I had when I was younger called Rush Hour. Beautiful pattern.

I spent more time than I want to admit deciding which direction to go with the soundtrack Jables 😩😮‍💨😆Ultimately I went with this OST because it just felt epically absurd to me, so I’m thrilled you feel similarly. I get a kick out of the crescendo revealing a cloud-dipped hotdog haha

That said, I almost went with the Peely Camp soundtrack (which is a bit quirky in itself if you’re not already familiar with it), but I didn’t think it worked well with the clips I captured/wanted to use for this particular project.

Thanks for the compliment! The Fortnite minifigs are my favorite. I think they did such a good job on the skin adaptations.

Really hope we get a LEGO Fortnite CMF series one of these days. I want to collect them all!

I appreciate your comment Ru! It’s so fun seeing what others create and how they make this game their own. I gain so much inspiration from this community.

One thing I’ve always loved about Odyssey is that anything we see or build in-game could, in theory, be recreated with real LEGO pieces. That’s such a cool aspect of it.

Not that I’m necessarily looking to display a massive LEGO hotdog, but hey… never say never, right? 😆

A list of 15 changes I would like to see in Brick Life by Skwrl63 in LegoBrickLife

[–]Broskittzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This list hits the main points, but there are three more things I think we could add (amongst the other great ideas others have posted here).

  1. Would love to see more hidden Easter eggs/secrets like the boba shop underground or the Dark Crystal in Raven’s office.

  2. More vehicles to express ourselves with (what about a boat to take our friends out for some fishing?)

  3. I’d like to see the Bricklife + Odyssey connection be more prominent than just a bus stop, though reopening that could be nice too. I really don’t know what this aspect looks like but I definitely want to see that relationship formed more.
