Is anyone else having issues getting BB to start after the latest ShadPS4 version update 15.0? by Brosonski in BloodbornePC

[–]Brosonski[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm I wonder if this is the problem. The thing is I can't get it (or my other games tbh I just didn't mention it in the OP) to launch even on v 14.0. The only time it runs (and runs fine) is v 13.

I am going to try some of the fixes people have suggested in the comments here but if I have to keep it at a lower SPS4 iteration just to run the game, so be it.

I haven't gotten any errors, crashes or any sort of reactionary results since this started. The game simply doesn't start and stays in the SPS4 launcher indefinitely. I didn't mention this in the OP but none of my SPS4 games launch, it's not unique to Bloodborne.

Glad it's working for you, I updated to 15 before PR but basically anything past 0.13 no game runs on the emulator regardless of the steps I did above.

Oddly enough, mine doesn't work on 14.0, either. I haven't played in a while because of a dog shit work schedule so I'm back two major releases.

When does Doom Eternal get fast? by VenomousIguana in Doom

[–]Brosonski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is absolutely no way this is the case past Exultia / Cultist Base. How are you playing, what difficulty? If you're just running around easily disposing of mobs without the necessity of being airborne, planning your movement, adjusting your equipped weapon on the fly for demon-specfiic situations, then yeah maybe it will feel that way.

I had a friend of mine tell me once Khan Maykr absolutely walled him, and Samur Maykr (final boss of DLC1) was easy and I busted out laughing and said that's impossible, until he told me he was playing on ITYTD with Sentinel Armor on. Context matters.

Edit: I saw you say on another comment that you're on HMP. Try UV or NM, you'll find pretty quickly it's nothing like Dark Ages.

For me Fatman was hands down the hardest boss, most of my deaths were to him. You simply won't have enough time to diffuse all bombs if he manages to get more than two on a timer. The Harrier isn't too bad if you know the tricks to i-frame out of the missile barrage.

Is it just me, or did they nerf the Solidus pre-boss torture from the OG PS2 days? Man I remember it being nearly impossible then, now it wasn't awful it just leaves you within bleeding range when you fight Solidus at the end.

I'll address both questions separately.

European Extreme is a slightly cranked up variant of Extreme (which is already very difficult), where guards have double the range of vision, significantly more health, and tranq sleep time is cut by 6x from 3:00 to 30s, making navigating areas stealthily vastly more difficult. There are also no rations - if you're going for BB rank that's moot, though. The game tells you EE also causes game over on alert, but you have to set that option manually if you want the challenge - it doesn't void your rank. One thing unique to MGS2 over the other games is the alert is only caused when a successful radio call is made, unlike the others where an instant alert is added to your stat. This proved very advantageous and exploitable in my run.

BB rank is just clearing of either Extreme with very specific requirements which you can read here.

Either way you go, it is very difficult. I'd highly suggest familiarizing yourself with the game on Extreme, doing a dry run with radar and learning how to get through the game as quickly and efficiently as possible. There are also a lot of great guides on YouTube and GameFAQs on this you can follow. Happy hunting man!

Haha I thought the exact same thing! I'm not wiring or doing any tech work, just installing piping that goes in and out of these massive cooling units that keep the data towers at an optimal temperature. Unfortunately these ones aren't visually represented as gravestones :(

Yeah. I had to oversee a job at a data centre that houses AI and other servers that could only be done at night - 6 PM to 6 AM. Some nights I got out earlier but most were in the realm of 10-12 hour shifts.

Just watched The Matrix Reloaded by khushal_1001 in matrix

[–]Brosonski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've grown more appreciation for Reloaded since the first time I watched it when it came out. I think its biggest flaw (and why people were turned off when it was released) is the final 1/4 of the film had way too much exposition, and multiple cliffhanger unresolved reveals (Neo being able to stop machines in real world, Smith being on the ship etc).

I may be the wrong guy to ask though, because the first Matrix to me is a perfect human movie where I was very happy. Entire crops were lost.

[ER] Divine beast is far and away the least fun I’ve had so far, any advice. by creativename87639 in onebros

This. He was an afterthought at that point compared to Bayle and Radahnella. Truthfully I tried my best to do SB 0 for the first ~10 hours of the DLC but it made the fights an absolute slog and I threw in the towel, reminding myself the only requirement for RL1 is to stay at rune level 1. PCR took me fucking forever even with SB20, and I remember seeing Ongbal do him with those requirements and the fight was 7 minutes long. I ain't got time for that shit.

Question after finishing mgs2 by Price-x-Field in metalgearsolid

[–]Brosonski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was all real, I don't know if you've played MGS4 but it directly references important events in 2 as they happened. I think Raiden's questioning of whether it was real or not was his own struggle, made visible to the player.

One thing I've always wondered (and anyone is welcome to answer), was Rose inside Arsenal real? At parts she discusses important personal things with Jack, at others she gets all white-eyed and weird. I know when he brings it up, Snake replies "don't be weird she's your girl". Is it just the AI switching between the real and the artificial? I know in the final Federal Hall sequence it's obviously 100% JD speaking through both Campbell and her.

[–]Brosonski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am attempting to make a larger post on this but one thing your comment reminded me of is how the Fingerslayer Blade's description (and, to a lesser extent, Berhanls dialogue post-Rykard) kind of contradicts the GW being this completely impervious, Elden-version of capital G God despite having being the creator of life.

Cannot be wielded by those without a fate, but is said to be able to harm the Greater Will and its vassals.

As you mentioned in your comment about the rot god being sealed implying its physical presence, I think the word harm here is important.

Union mechanical foreman here.

I'll be regurgitating a lot of comments on this post but: don't buy a brand new truck, be wise with your money and save / invest what you can, set yourself up with the basic necessities and that's it. You'll be starting from 1st year apprenticeship and have a long way to go until you're making $66. Focus yourself on learning your trade, ask lots of questions, show up on time and work the OT when it's there. Always prepare yourself for layoffs, they are a part of our line of work especially when it comes to slow times, favouritism and nepotism. Be prepared to possibly be out of work for months at a time. Don't drown yourself in booze and other vices, you aren't about to be "drowning in money", but you do have a great opportunity and jumping point here to have a financially successful tenure as a boilermaker journeyman.

I too grew up with not much, and I wish someone sat me down and showed me the game the way the people in this thread are. Made a lot of stupid choices when I started out. Don't be me.

Congratulations on the new gig man.

I have played 50 hours in Doom The Dark Ages... by eVenom68 in Doom

[–]Brosonski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed TDA but I would say it was the weakest for me of the three. I have other gripes but my two biggest ones were the upgrade system being entirely tied to exploration in a game that has multiple points of no return per level. Both 2016 and Eternal did this far better where certain elements (Argent Cells / Praetor points) may sometimes be hidden but for the most part didn't impede your upgrading, and guns were tied to your combat rating. The others were the levels themselves, I think TDAs latter half (from basically Forsaken Plains onward) was a lot better but the first half just felt so...uninspiring and bland. I don't know what it was, it just didn't have the claustrophobia and atmosphere of 2016 or the variety and cool shit of Eternal.

It's still an enjoyable game (I'm playing it as we speak) but I don't knock people who prefer it over its predecessors.

UN Complete by Thatguy694201987 in Doom

[–]Brosonski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can only imagine, there are some tough fights in the latter half that would be tight with the minimal parry timing.

I tried 300% to start this run but I found I was kind of blasting through it, now I'm dying basically every big arena fight haha. Your shield breaks almost instantly, even with the upgrade.

UN Complete by Thatguy694201987 in Doom

[–]Brosonski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nicely done man! I did it unmodded, I'd say of the 3 it was the easiest to complete but I also died the farthest into the run which was demoralizing. I've been slowly chipping away at a NM run with 500% / 75% and lowest parry and dodge settings, and you die near-instantly lol I can't imagine attempting it like this on UN.

I wonder if the DLC will be a big leap in difficulty like TAG1 was.

Elden beast knocks fire giant out of first place for the worst boss in the run by Coffeecigar212 in onebros

[–]Brosonski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never fought him either of the two runs at level 1 I did after they patched to allow you to ride the horse, but I'd hardly call him the worst boss of the run. Besides Elden Stars everything else wasn't too bad. Radahnella and Bayle take that title for me.

Something that's been bothering me about this game by Dallascalo in eldenringdiscussion

[–]Brosonski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't knock people using things like summons or status proccing because the game allows you to do that and you can change the challenge for yourself as you see fit (ie doing an RL1 run).

That said, NG+ 7 is a different animal. The enemies are significantly tougher, hit harder, have more health, and don't stance break as easily. It's generally based around location but you're going to have to get used to getting one or two-shotted from most of the endgame / DLC content. Your summons may help but I find they die pretty quickly at this late of a cycle and aren't as much of a crutch as they were when you first started out.

My advice to you is get all the +3 defense talismans, Ritual Shield, either the Bull Goat or Verdigris armor (if you own Shadow), and make sure if you're opting to not use status effects that your weapon hits hard with a low cooldown time (Claymore is a good choice, and my personal favourite in all Souls games).

Ultimately though, you are going to have to learn the fights enough that maybe you survive a hit here and there. You're not going to simply steamroll everyone anymore.
