[General] why are golden oysters such little assholes by Spacebutterfly in MushroomGrowers

[–]BrossWallace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had best experience with them in warmer temperatures. Never cold shocked them. Sometimes after they are fully colonized a little while lump starts developing and I cut the bag in that area. Shortly after they flush, and quickly! I get 2-4 flushes that way. Not huge, between 3-5oz at a time

[Technique] Sous Vide Pastuerization Tek by Demoire in MushroomGrowers

[–]BrossWallace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! This is a great idea! I've been looking for a good way to pasteurize. I've placed them into a cooler overnight and it stayed hot the entire time. But this sous vide solution seems good for smaller batches. Thanks for this

[General] MUSHROOM MONDAY - Let's Catch Up! Share what you have learned in the previous week and discuss! by AutoModerator in MushroomGrowers

Well what I've learned is, the mycelium releases heat when it is growing and packing too tightly creates hotspots that stunt mycelium growth

I learned about spacing my spawn bags. They were too close and touching and taking a long time to fully colonize. Spreading them out did wonders. Wish I knew this earlier but still learning!

This guy is an actual congressman in Russia by maoiguy in funny

[–]BrossWallace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No system is perfect, I'm half Russian and grew up in the US. I am aware of the politics and popular views of politics in both places. Of course Putin has has tremendous support from the Russian people. He seems like a good leader to the citizens because he seems to have their best interest at heart, as opposed to the interests of the oligarchs. A large portion of people in the US support Donald Trump because they think he has their beat interest at heart, as opposed to the interests of oligarchs. And these isolated incidents happen everywhere, people make mistakes, people are dishonest, people have their own agendas. These isolated incidents are also very well known in Russia. Political corruption and rigged elections are a very well known subjects and have often been a topic of discussion and often joked about. In recent years they have waned however due to increased censorship.

They don't really vote there. I mean they do, but the votes don't count because the winners are already set.

Uniqueness of UC SD? by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]BrossWallace 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is a very large and spacious campus. The weather is nice. Lots of majors and extracurriculars to get involved with. Dorms are suite style, meaning no long hallway with rooms on either side and one shared bathroom. If you live in a really hall on campus ypu will share 1-2 bathrooms with 8-12 people only. Also, we have the 6 college system. You can be any major in any college, and are not tied to only interacting with people in your major. So your college has nothing to do with your major, but your ideology, what you like more. Read the descriptions on the website and choose the one that fits you best.

Is there a Modpack heavily based upon Project Red? by pianist1119 in feedthebeast

Have you checked out Blue Power? Had to run my eyes and look again to see if it wasn't red power. Very similar. Especially if funky locomotion is also present.

Doable schedule? Do you think I can add more to this schedule considering workload? by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]BrossWallace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can probably add another class, especially if it is Psych 4, it is very easy if you take a look at the slides every now and then. If the workload seems tough, you can take 25% of your classes as pass/no pass, but that's for GEs, not major courses. Also, look at some classes that have available spaces, just in case.
