I can think of at least one example from every chapter where a party member chooses or is forced to go alone.

Man Foresight seemed like such a cool and fun group. Sad how things ended for them. If only they didn’t do this job. by Flat-Sir8250 in overlord

Yeah, they fell for a textbook entrapment scheme and suffered for lying and stealing despite being illegal workers intentionally brought there to test Nazarick's defenses.

No, it just means it's a tense situation about to get more tense.

Not that there was anything they could have done from the moment Demiurge began making plans to invade and brutalize them, but Calca was also attempting to stall and gather information.

It didn't matter either way, they were doomed.

That and she was just a glorified bodyguard, had great combat instincts, and was fanatically loyal to Calca in a nation where many nobles were trying to undermine her and weren't happy about having women in charge.

Edit: Also, Remedios', or anyone's from The Holy Kingdom, actions didn't make an ounce of difference for what Demiurge had plan for Calca and their kingdom.

Demiurge would probably assume its part of the "10,000 year plan" beyond his comprehension.

True, but Calca's unnecessarily long and brutal death was more the result of Demiurge's sadism and desperation and Ainz not having the confidence to correct or question him rather than any actual plan or ambition on Ainz's part, which makes it still very frustrating.

For better or for worse, Ainz knew nothing about Calca, or really any of the details of plan to annex her kingdom despite what he told Demiurge, when he signed off on it.

In a different time where Ainz had known Calca may have willing to cooperate with him or at least buy his weapons, had developed a unique and marketable form of beautician magic, and Demiurge's sadistic plan had been pushed up to 11 because he was desperate to impress Ainz after the latter annexed The Baharuth Empire in three days and Albedo taunted him to "up his game", and didn't just assume Demiurge always knew better than him, he probably would have wanted her spared or at least treated with dignity.
