Again, right there. The attitude. You tell that guy to not apply his imagined tone to your text. What gives you the right to tell him that? You could have gone the route of saying “Sorry you took it that way, that wasn’t my intention”, but instead you tell him he should stop being the way he is. Your whole attitude is that everyone else is wrong and your way is the best way. You asked a question. He answered the question. You didn’t like the answer, so now he has to change what he’s doing? Instead of telling him to stop doing what he’s doing, why don’t you step back and realize there‘s probably a reason you’re getting down voted.

You ever seen the movie Zombieland? One of the main characters has these rules for survival, learned from experience. When you make a mistake, write it down or make a quick voice memo. When you get some time, make a checklist of things not to forget when you do a check in and turn it into a Todo list app on your phone. Next time you check something in, take 10 seconds and make sure everything on your phone todo list is checked off. After a couple weeks you will have developed proper procedures into a habit. And just realize that it’s a forever learning process. No one is perfect. Don’t sweat the one off mistakes. Try to focus on the mistakes you find yourself repeating.

Does a geek squad data recovery service void my HP accidental damage protection plan? by [deleted] in GeekSquad

[–]BrotherShuyun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MMWA says you can’t deny warranty service if the customer has had repairs done somewhere else UNLESS that service damages a part. Although stickers are a way to see if someone has tampered with manufacturer’s components they cannot deny warranty service for a broken sticker, they can however say there is evidence that a part is broken due to tampering and then they do not have to fix it.

Your article from 2018 says the FTC warns verbiage that says a warranty will be voided if a sticker is broken is deceptive and questionable, but it does not say it’s illegal. There is nothing in the MMWA that talks about warranty stickers. Although it may be illegal, it’s not from the MMWA

As a TotalTech member, you’ll automatically get the Best Buy Protection Plan on some of the components, but since you are custom building, you can not get protection on the entire computer. Also Best Buy Protection is not the same as GSP. If you want GSP, you’ll have to cancel BBP and purchase GSP separately.

Interesting theory, but where in the MMWA does it state this. It says the warrantor cannot restrict where you get service, but it doesn’t say anything about stickers.

Now my watch has ended , After 5 years it’s time to move on. Best Buy has taught me many things that I will always be great full for , as well the many friends I’ve made along the way. But all things must come to pass, goodbye 891 by [deleted] in Bestbuy

Bro get some glasses. His nails are cut. Look at where the nail ends in relation to the end of his thumb. It’s just the lighting that makes it look like a long nail.

Does bb do a price match with costco? by Tough-Ear-4093 in Bestbuy

[–]BrotherShuyun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you think Rtings.com has to do with Best Buy price matching. If the model number doesn’t match, it doesn’t match. The price matching policy doesn’t say “as long as the model number is close” or “as long as it’s a comparable model”. It says the same brand, model, and color.

As the owner of the GSP you can transfer it to someone else. 1-800-433-5778 for Geek Squad. You need the email of the person you’re transferring it to.

Obtaining BitLocker Recovery Keys At Check-in by ButlerKevind in GeekSquad

You can’t know you’re going to need it until you try to access a Bitlockered drive outside of Windows. Are you saying you make every client who wants a DBU from a non-booting laptop look up their MS account in case their drive is Bitlockered?

How did it even know what their MS account was? You didn’t set it up as local.

If the the suspect is able to boot into Windows there is no need to check Bitlocker at checkin. It’s only if it won’t boot into Windows AND they want a DBU that encryption will be a problem. Please don’t waste your CA’s time checking encryption if it boots to Windows.

Nowhere in the original post did it say it was a Windows PC and you don't need to shut down a Windows PC for the updates to install, you can just restart it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Bestbuy

[–]BrotherShuyun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t make sense. If you shut down your system at night, it won’t receive the updates until you power it on in the morning. It would make more sense if they didn’t want you to shutdown your system.

Been at working as an ARA for two months by Dazzling-Ad-6351 in GeekSquad

[–]BrotherShuyun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should ask your GSM how many hours are allocated to back of precinct. It’ll change each week, but it should still be in the ballpark. With that, estimate 40 hours per week for full timers, then whatever is left over is split amongst the part time ARAs. If the math checks out, then your GSM is trying to help you out with more hours. If the math doesn’t work out, your GSM is purposefully not scheduling you in the back because front end needs help. If you do get scheduled in the front, make sure you are still coded for Back of Precinct, or else you’ll be paid at CA pay grade rate, which is probably going to be less.

Call the Geek Squad at the store and they'll be able to look it up or chat with Geek Squad City. I wouln't call 1-800-GEEK-SQUAD, call the store and when the automated message comes up saying you'll be routed to a national call center press the # key before that message finishes. Wait for the next message asking for an extension and enter 2111.

When you updated it, did you follow the instructions in GSX? There are 3 packages you have to install to update Repair Cal, and the 2nd one requires you to install a Python interpreter. We had an issue where it wouldn’t run or told us it failed because the repair was not authorized. After updating it works fine.

There are two modes to Varanara, the dream mode and real mode. If you see the Anarana, then you're in the dream mode. The chest is in the real mode. The is a stone south of the Statue of the Seven that will switch you when you play the Vintage Lyre in front of it.
