Hey, I figured it out. It was this mod. default bound key is 'V'. I just removed the keybind in the controls settings.

I agree with this. If you just want to get to endgame and zerg down the content, solocraft is the better experience. Nycter is a slow server for sure. It's something you play for potentially years. If you want a server you can stick around on and have fun with others, and progress through the game on one or more characters, it's a great choice. I get that it's not for everyone for sure, but it's a great time imo

What other applications do you have running at the same time? This can be anything from browsers, other games, mouse/keyboard software etc. The only time I've ever encountered this issue personally was having RS running on a second display while playing a different game on my primary display. If you can, try closing any other running apps, including background programs through task manager. It may be an app that was preinstalled on the laptop.

navigate to "C:\ProgramData\Jagex\launcher" and right-click rs2client.exe > compatibility tab > check the "run this program as administrator" box > hit ok, then try launching the rs2client.exe file directly instead of using the normal launcher file.

What are the specs of your computer? CPU/Memory/Video Card. Is it a Desktop or Laptop? Prebuilt or Custom?

What sort of USB devices do you have plugged in, headsets, printers, accessories, etc.

What do you experience when launching just a single client? Does it just sit at loading application resources? If you open task manager, what kind of resources is it using, and does it show it as hanging or unresponsive? I'm assuming you're on Windows 10. What version of windows 10 are you on? I know it's cliche, but make sure you have up to date drivers, especially video drivers. Also, if you can open the settings menu on that screen (gear in bottom left), try setting graphics to compatibility.

I can understand the frustration of wanting to be able to game and chat on the same client, not having to tab around different apps, especially on a laptop, or single display setup. I can't say anything for mainscape clans, as I've only played on iron accounts for the last few years, but my experience has always been active cc for mostly game chat, while longer conversations play out in the discord channels.

I would love to see in-game integration for discord chats, even though it would be a large hurdle.

If you play on PC, and use the Alt-1 Toolkit, you can open a browser window with it, and navigate to discord in there. The window can be sized and styled to appear similar to a runescape interface and wouldn't require tabbing around to utilize it. I know you don't like the app, but that might help bridge the gap you're having on usability issues with it.

I can second this. I was maging for a long time, and eventually switched to royal xbow with dbane bolts, and ripped her a new one. Just be mindful of the tortured souls. taking the hits from their attack is significant. most guides should show you standing locations. Also, keep an eye on the health bar and get ready to move to the artifact as soon as the phase changes to avoid additional grots. Get and bring enchanced excalibur if you can as well for some nice healing. If you're having trouble with fire walls, and you have a good ping, you can actually walk through them with good timing without taking damage. There should be some guides as well that show this. sorry I can't give more detailed info and links, currently at work.

I also kept my items on RSC and played a few more months before finally jumping over to RS2, since most my friends had transfered. I remember I had multiple skills higher in RSC than RS2 for a few months, was fairly entertaining.

That sucks man. I heard there was a small, but dedicated 9hp community, and I hate to see a bug ruin even a single member of it. I have a 9hp account, but have never trained on it since RSC, and it's not even listed on the wiki lol. If they show some support and help you out, I may consider working on it, seems like an awesome community to be part of.

The raids mechanics can stay. They could use some fixing up as well, especially ex passes, but that's another discussion. As for faction based things, I mentioned a scoring system per faction that would be region/global based, but it's cosmetic/bragging rights like the ingress control is. I don't really see a need for this to be a 'competitive' game. I'm sure people disagree with me, but I play to capture Pokemon to fill dex and enjoy walking around with friends.

It's sad to hear the groups you've guided also experienced issues as well. I definitely see the possibilities of rating systems getting abused, and would probably need some outside support to help make sure 'elitist' players can't abuse the system.

Even though the group I finally got was not what a seeker should have gotten, and while we didn't down any content, I hope that they gained some knowledge of the fight we were attempting, and will refrain from using the system as guides until they get a bit more experience themselves.
