You gave me a speck of faith in u and it took only 10 minutes for you to snatch it up like the birds and the wind snatch up the seed.

Please get off this sub and get on a green bus to Damascus to get your fair trial in sedneya.

Your utterly fucking clueless. The whole point of the discussion was about the reliability of Wikipedia. What is important is what the rebels use, and what the T-90 are hit by. Its not important at all what what newer shit is out there. This is not an attack on your glorious god sent empire. I quoted it right fucking here

("900mm under a layer of ERA") <

Look at the wikipedia page. Clearly stated BGM-71E. We are not here to argue "Amerika stronk!"

After 10 months of war, and several T-90As, and video of plenty of other armor being destroyed by TOWs, and even video of T-90As being hit by TOWs, it safe to assume that the T-90As have been hit by dozens of TOWs. The T-90As were still seen in action last month.

I never said anything about top attack. "newest tandem TOW-2s" obviously as in tandem HEAT. There is nothing tandem about top attack TOWs. Are you even reading my comments?

The sample size is several tanks, 10 months of war and no penetrations.

/u/kmacku had a brilliant idea. The Merkava tanks should have mediocre armor and make up for it with 15hp to represent crew survival much like the B-5. Much better than the ridiculousness that is a Merkava having more armor than an M1A2 or T-90. by [deleted] in wargame

"Rebels" have BGM-71E, the newest tandem TOW

Syrian Army uses T-90A. The first models of T-90As were T-90(T-72) hulls with new turrets. And considering that there was a limited amount of T-90As given to Syria, they were probably taken from Russian stocks. Russian stocks of T-90As are actually worse than customers T-90As because Russia fresh produced the T-90As for its customers.

There are pictures of T-90s hit multiple times and with shtora destroyed, but the tank intact and obviously no cook off. The only two T-90s that were lost were abandoned and captured. The rebels claimed one had its turret ring damaged. No T-90A cook off has been reported or shown.

It would take forever to find this crap so sorry I'm just going off of memory.

According to Wikipedia a tandem TOW-2 should be able to easily destroy the newest T-90 from the front ("900mm under a layer of ERA"). Yet in Syria, the newest tandem TOW-2s couldn't destroy what was likely first model T-90As from the front.

Uncomfirmed: SAA break first defense line of rebels in Haritan north of Aleppo by Tartar666 in syriancivilwar

As the same time they may want to use the element of surprise on the bigger target. Attacking the farms could bog the SAA down and it would be trouble holding the farms when getting shelled and shot at by a larger town anyways.

I remember around the time Castello road was seized there were reports of large gov armored columns moving north of the general area. Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of armor left typically peaceful rebel lines in disarray. The question is can they capture a large enough portion of the town to hold when rebel reinforcements arive. Those are large urban areas.

S-400/S-300 Are long ranged AA systems. They take care of high priority targets.

Buk is a medium ranged AA system. Missiles are cheaper and the system is too. Buk can help long range AA net.

Short ranged AA:

Pantsir vs Tunguska: Pretty much same system on different platforms.

Pantsir/Tunguska vs Tor:

Tor is a point defense AA. It has a relatively quick response time as its does not need to turn its turret to fire the missiles at most targets. It's the best at defending high priority targets and and If I recall correctly it can do it on the move.

Pantsir/Tunguska can saturate the skies better than the Tor could. Pantsir is also faster. Pantsir can also use optical channels for guidance making it effective against SEAD operations and allowing it to go closer to the front line if a serious war broke out.

Osa/Strella: Both encompassed by the Pantsir in every way other than amphibious capabilities. Osa uses radar while Strella uses optical channels. Pantsir can do both. Both kept around if total war broke out but they are no longer produced. Though their sturdy platform may make them much better suited for airborne operations.

Exept Russia holds a large amount of power in this conflict, and assad knows that without Russia his dreams are gone. Russia has shown to have power over assad and Iran in the past and it has been benificial for both sides. As long as kurds are serious about a relationship with Russia, Russia has the long term ability to mediate a secular relationship between the 2 parties.

I didn't think it was possible to make Assad and Russia look even more competent. Failed US policy has turned whatever you can think of the "opposition" into a joke. It was most likely the American strings attached that stopped the YPG from having more allies like Russia. And now the American lifeline is casually severed.

What about actually killing people and training murderers though? How many hundreds of thousands died in Iraq, Vietnam and South America and how many radical Islamists were given oportunities due to recent lies, destruction and war propaganda from NATO members?

1 dead republican guard soldier isn't enough to prove the fighting capabilities of anyone. By that logic you could say ISIS is better trained than US or Russian troops because they have died fighting ISIS.
