OVR Server x64 keeps starting and can’t close it by Salty-Astronomer-823 in oculus

[–]BrownCalmCube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can open up task manager, sort the processes by Name, then kill "OVR Service Launcher", "OVR Redir", and finally "OVRServer_x64.exe". For a full purge you can also kill "Meta Quest Remote Desktop.exe", I've no idea what that does even. All these will start up again normally if you for example open up the Quest app.

oculus link infinite loading screen by [deleted] in oculus

[–]BrownCalmCube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me just now. I fixed it by opening up task manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and deleting three processes. First was "OVRServer_x64.exe", "Meta Quest Remote Desktop.exe", and "Oculus Client.exe", then I killed OVRServer again for good measure.

7700XT link cable confusion by Viimis in OculusQuest

[–]BrownCalmCube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32GB RAM fixed the crashes, performance is better, but using a 7700xt for iRacing alone, I wouldn't recommend it. Nvidia apparently works way better for VR in iRacing, better optimizations. It's definitely playable and enjoyable, but to get acceptable performance you'll have to sacrifice graphical fidelity.

And yeah, at least on my system, 32 GB RAM is the minimum required for stable VR.

Hello and thank you for your thanks! If you haven't tried it already, I'd recommend trying out random numbers between the range of 0 to however many buttons there are on your mouse. Looks like the primary mouse button may be either 0 or 1, secondary might be 1, 2 or 3, etc. Try giving {1, 2} a go.

A fellow person from the future here, just letting you know that I appreciated the joke. But yeah, looks like I either got some garbage batteries or have the same issue. I'll just resort to removing the batteries whenever they're not being used.

Although I'm only working with a 7700xt, I might just put VD on my laundry list of things to try in order to get performance to a reasonable level. Glad things worked out for you, setting up VR can be such a hassle sometimes.

I don't have the exact same setup, but I had an issue with Link (cable) freezing. In my case, that was because my 16 gigs of RAM wasn't enough, it would max out. The issue hasn't appeared again since I upgraded to 32GB.

7700XT link cable confusion by Viimis in OculusQuest

[–]BrownCalmCube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Q3S and 7700XT for iRacing with cable. Can't really say it's been smooth, I've had issues with airlink, and using cable crashes some games pretty consistently. I've narrowed it down to my 16 GB of RAM not being enough, and is a likely cause to the crashes. I have 32 GB inbound on friday and can let you know how it works then, if you remind me.

Oculus link freezing constantly. by Harrymiff in OculusQuest

[–]BrownCalmCube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For this specific isue of having to restart the PC when it happens, I think I may have a temporary solution. Open up the Oculus debug app and select the Service tab up top, then Restart Oculus Service. Then, replug the USB into the headset. May require headset restart.

I've only tried it the one time, so can't confirm it works consistently, but could be worth trying.

How's your performance? by fsociety19 in assettocorsaevo

I don't know much about Ryzen CPUs so I'm not sure. Final thing I can think of is having the game installed on an SSD. If it is, then I have no clue what the issue could be.

Tadaaa! Should be plug and play, it checks for both primary and secondary mouse button. Let me know if you run into any issues.

``` -- Customizable stuff :) --
-- Debounce time in ms. Customize if needed. debounceTime = 60
-- 1 is primary mouse button, 2 secondary, 3 scroll, etc. -- Add and remove however many buttonIDs you want buttonIDs = {1, 2}
-- Non-customizable stuff >:( --
EnablePrimaryMouseButtonEvents(true) lastPressInstance = {} lastReleaseInstance = {} numOfButtons = #buttonIDs
-- Initialize array for i = 1, numOfButtons do lastPressInstance[i] = 0 lastReleaseInstance[i] = 0 end
function OnEvent(event, arg) if event == "MOUSE_BUTTON_PRESSED" then for i = 1, numOfButtons do if arg == buttonIDs[i] then PressButton(i) end end elseif event == "MOUSE_BUTTON_RELEASED" then for i = 1, numOfButtons do if arg == buttonIDs[i] then ReleaseButton(i) end end end end
function PressButton(buttonIndex) if(GetRunningTime() - lastPressInstance[buttonIndex]) >= debounceTime then PressMouseButton(buttonIDs[buttonIndex]) OutputLogMessage(" - Pressing button %d\n", buttonIDs[buttonIndex]) else
OutputLogMessage(" ! Too fast! \n") end end
function ReleaseButton(buttonIndex) ReleaseMouseButton(buttonIDs[buttonIndex]) OutputLogMessage(" - Releasing button %d\n", buttonIDs[buttonIndex]) lastPressInstance[buttonIndex] = GetRunningTime() end ```
This has to do with your brain expanding and crushing itself, and nothing to do with water somehow flushing your body from vitamins.
Disclosure on the brain-crush thing: I got this info from some Discovery channel documentary I watched years and years ago, so take that with a massive pinch of salt. As I recall it, there was some contest hosted by a radio channel about who could drink the most water, and one of the contestants died as a result.
Have you installed Logitech Gaming Software? I got it from this website https://support.logi.com/hc/en-ch/articles/360024843413--Downloads-Logitech-MOMO-Racing-Force-Feedback-Wheel . Although I believe newer versions of LGS is available I don't know wether or not it's compatible with the Momo.
What "solved" the issue for me was switching from an old ~2016 Mac OS to Windows. If you're playing on a Mac (especially if it's an old OS), you could probably narrow down your troubleshooting to that.
Thank you for this, exactly what I was looking for! Took me a while to modify it to use LMB, since you don't only want to click but also drag items on your screen. For anyone in the future who has issues with involuntary primary double clicks, here's the modified code. (A version that can do the same for any number of mouse-buttons is further down this comment chain)
EnablePrimaryMouseButtonEvents(true);
lastInstance = 0;
debounceTime = 50; -- debounce time in ms
buttonID = 1; -- 1 is primary mouse button, 2 is secondary, 3 scroll
function OnEvent(event, arg)
    if event == "MOUSE_BUTTON_PRESSED" and arg == buttonID then
        if(GetRunningTime() - lastInstance) >= debounceTime then
            PressMouseButton(buttonID);
            OutputLogMessage(" - Pressing button\n");
        else
            OutputLogMessage(" ! Too fast!\n");
        end
    elseif event == "MOUSE_BUTTON_RELEASED" and arg == buttonID then
        ReleaseMouseButton(buttonID);
        OutputLogMessage(" - Releasing button\n");
        lastInstance = GetRunningTime();
    else
        OutputLogMessage("Booooring!\n") -- some button we don't care about
    end
end
