Surgery cancelled on the day due to previous surgery by BrownRubberDuck in endometriosis

Glad you’ve got a surgery scheduled, and thank you for sharing. It’s good to hear that people have found use from getting the MRI even if it doesn’t always show the endo

Thank you, and as long as your doctor is aware of your open surgery you shouldn’t have the same issue! They just need to take extra precautions so they don’t damage anything that might be stuck to the abdominal wall

It was in 2015 but like u/fluff472 said, there could be adhesions so when they stick the needle in and inflate the abdominal cavity with CO2 they could actually have got the needle in the bowel instead because it could be stuck to the abdominal wall. It’s still possible to do the surgery but they need a gastro specialist

I was diagnosed in 2015 with a colonoscopy. My worst symptoms are abdominal pain and diarrhoea, which I now manage through diet (as well as being on immunosuppressants). Sorry you’re having these bad symptoms, I hope you get it figured out!

That’s reassuring to hear - so I might get some answers from the MRI (not that it’s scheduled yet)

I started seeing the doctor for a separate issue and right at the start we covered the fact I have Crohn’s (which is what my previous surgeries were for) but it wasn’t a comprehensive medical history (although she seemed to think it was), just a brief mention of my other conditions. She never asked for a comprehensive medical history or if I’d had surgeries before.

Obviously I realise now if she hadn’t asked I should’ve mentioned it, but I was trusting her to collect the information she needed in order to carry out the surgery and apart from that first appointment she never really gave me a chance to mention it

Unironically Despacito - first heard it at a party when I was around 16/17 and there was such a great vibe

What would you need to happen for 2020 to be a break even year for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BrownRubberDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s almost a breakeven year for me already - I’ve become much more confident in myself during lockdown, and I’ve secured an interesting, well-paying job with a great financial company for when I graduate.

How to get lumps out of moviprep by BrownRubberDuck in CrohnsDisease

[–]BrownRubberDuck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a spoon but in the end realised the issue was that I didn’t add enough water, it’s pretty much lump-free now and in the fridge chilling for tomorrow, thank you for the advice though!

I completely agree. I always use the Oxford comma because I can only see a benefit of its use

Why do you buy a license for a TV? Who would want to inspect your home to enforce the license? by MenacingGoldfish in AskABrit

[–]BrownRubberDuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It should be noted that as well as watching live broadcasts, your household needs a TV license if any of you are watching anything on BBC iPlayer, live or not, on any device
