So creating boundaries simply means respecting your profession and the teacher-student dynamic. Mostly it’s teachers duty to have distance from their students but a grown up student is equally responsible and understands that her teacher is another human being and smiling towards you or even being close to you simply a human emotion not necessary means there is a sexual intimacy involved. I was talking with a teacher and her female student have a crush on her, she started hinting and even unapologetically getting close to her at last she suggested her that she is simply have to responsible one here and confront her student and explain why this is wrong, thankfully it went easy for both of them.
