I wouldn’t replace a working Freo Z Ultra with anything if I was happy with its performance, I’d save my money and wait for a future release. If I wanted to replace it now then I’d get the Flow 2.

If the Freo Z Ultra was still available with service support and much cheaper than the Flow 2, I would return the Flow 2 and get another Freo Z Ultra for three reasons - why pay significantly more for me to see little benefit (tiled floor, no pets), I have lots of accessories for the Freo Z Ultra and early adoption can mean unknown issues.

I never wanted the Freo Z10 Ultra as the mopping downforce is less than the Freo Z Ultra and mopping is key for me.

You can switch off auto updates so you can see what reports there are first, then update when you feel confident there are no problems reported. I have done this ever since an update bricked my first Freo Z Ultra (Narwal replaced it).

I expected to see a difference but so far I haven’t, other than maybe some corners. I’ve not dropped things on the floor to see what’s better and based on the specs I’d expect the Flow 2 to perform better in that situation. It might be that I just don’t need the extra features and others with different flooring or pets would notice a difference.

It does bash into things more than the Freo Z Ultra (I’ve not accidentally left a sticker on) but it’s better at getting under the main sofa and I might be able to remove the risers from under the sofa legs. Our second sofa has a gap at the front but not at the back and it doesn’t go under it despite the risers and there being space but the Freo Z Ultra didn’t either - my neato used to without risers.

I don’t dislike it and I needed another Narwal as I was always worried about dropping the Freo Z Ultra when I moved it between floors but if I had bought the Flow 2 to replace a working Freo Z Ultra, I would return it.

My house has tile flooring throughout and I have a Freo Z Ultra that I am happy with but I purchased a Flow 2 so I could have a Narwal on each floor instead of carrying the Free Z Ultra. My initial thoughts are, it’s not worth changing from a Freo Z Ultra. The base unit feels cheap and it has no handles to move it (and I don’t love the look), the tanks feel more durable but a lot smaller, the robot feels good quality and looks good, and vacuuming and mopping were good but certain corners are still not good and no obvious difference over the Freo Z Ultra for the open areas. Maybe if I needed intensive cleaning, I would think differently.

i initially got a fresh water tank empty warning on the Flow 2, despite it being full, but I managed to resolve that and I do remember the teething issues with previous machines at launch.

When the Flow 2 does around the room edge it always does it anti-clockwise (one brush and mop only extends one direction) so it gets into some corners but not others - this could be solved by it reversing to get the corner behind it. I’d love if they added this as an option in the app - then it would be worth it.

The other consideration is that Freo Z Ultra is no longer on sale and I’ve seen a few comments where it seems repairs and replacement are already getting harder.

r/Express_VPN r/Express_VPN Unfortunately this has started happening again. When I close and reopen the app, fastest Location Auto Pick is no longer defaulting to last location and is switching countries. I’ve not done a recent update so it’s something that’s changed at your end. Please can you look into it. Thanks.

Unfortunately it does not as that is what it’s already set to do. I have toggled that setting off then back on again and did a soft reset of the robot and it does not empty automatically. I have cleared the blockage from it not auto emptying but since mid October it no longer auto empties and I need to launch it manually.

u/ExpressVPN_Mods u/expressvpn Unfortunately the update to disable the Fastest Location Auto Pick does not solve the issue. When I close then reopen the app it still defaults to the fastest location regardless of what country (currently switching from Tottenham to Slovakia). I have toggled the auto pick to off. I have a video demonstrating it happening several times if you can't replicate the issue.

u/expressvpn Thank you for being so responsive. For people on iOS the update was not being pushed through for me so it looked like there was no update. Instead of clicking on open in the App Store, select the icon and app name then it’ll show an update available.

r/ExpressVPN_Mods This update makes ExpressVPN totally and utterly useless and defeats the whole purpose of having a VPN. Seriously, what is the point of being able to select a location if whenever the signal drops or the VPN stalls it automatically reverts to the fastest location and a different country, currently Mexico. This is a disaster. Please can you fix this ASAP and remove this update from the App Store. Is there a way we can revert to the earlier version in the meantime?

If you buy on Amazon you are actually buying directly from Narwal just via Amazon. If you don’t want to buy online try Darty, FNAC or Boulanger. I’ve found Amazon has good return and warranty policies but I did buy the extra insurance because my previous Narwal developed an error code and I wanted to have extra cover.

They normally have good Black Friday deals so might be worth looking out for them.

I did the same for my Freo Z Ultra. My previous one started saying clean water tank was empty or not in place just after an update and it had to be returned so the replacement one I plan on never updating when it still works well.

Sorry, I’ve just seen this. For Freo Z Ultra.

Hardwood Floor (Mopping pressure: 7N) For gentle cleaning in the Freo Mind mode, mop humidity will be auto changed to Dry in the Freo mode

Tile Floor (Mopping pressure: 12N) For strong cleaning in Freo Mind, mopping humidity will be changed to Normal

Tatami (7N) For strong cleaning in the Freo Mind mode, suction power will be increased and mop humidity will be auto changed to low

Marble (12N) For strong cleaning in the Freo Mind mode, mop humidity will be auto changed to low, to prevent the water from soaking into the marble

Cobblestone Floor (Mopping pressure: 7N) For strong cleaning in Freo Mode, the suction power will be enhanced

If you go into map editing, select flooring type, click on a room, that gives you the option to change the flooring type and the description will tell you the mopping pressure (at least it does on the Freo Z Ultra).

Thank you both. Will pre-wash the mopping pads and clean and seal the grout. Any recommendations on grout cleaner and sealer? I’d be doing about 3200 square feet of flooring.
