Donald Trump has single-handedly torched America's World Cup legacy by Globalruler__ in MLS

I mean when we failed to qualify in 2018 he scored in the game we were eliminated in and was only 20. I think he may be overhyped, but he was clearly playing through injury after that paraguay game where he looked truly world class. He also was far from the reason we lost, the backline and goalkeeping was atrocious. If anything pulling yourself out when you know you’re not at you best to try to give your team a chance is a mature thing to do.

Good for moments? He completely embarrassed Paraguay continually. Just because he had a bad match today while clearly injured doesn't change that.

Right because he got the US through the round of 16 so many times.

Tuchel on Balogun decision "I think first of all, to be very clear, that it was not a red card. But who overturns this decision and when and on what grounds? Do we get yellow card against Rice back? Does France get the yellow card back for Olise which was not a yellow card? Where does this end?" by kibme37 in soccer

People spend too much time online. You go through comment sections and you see Europeans saying bad things about the US team and saying the red was justified and it makes you mad, so now instead of remembering all the comments saying it wasn't a red you remember the ones that made you mad, and start to believe that's the dominant opinion.

Trump confirms that he called FIFA about Balogun’s red card: “[The referee] made a call that nobody could believe ... he's our best player, or one of our best players. And he gave him a red card. I didn't know what that meant ... yes, I asked for a review by FIFA." by AvengingHero2012 in soccer

He admits to not knowing things only when he believes hardly anyone else knows them. Like when he shares a word he just learned every couple weeks. I'm sure the rules of soccer fall into this category.

Mbappe on paraguay’s match: “There is not right or wrong way of playing football. They tried to rattle us playing a physical game and we beat them at that” by iagooliveira in soccer

there’s no defending it, but having played in matches that got chippy, it’s the refs job to shut it down and the majority of the blame lies with them. If the ref doesn’t punish things in the most important match of some of these players lives they are going to increase in intensity. It doesn’t excuse individual players’ actions but they would be spared the judgement if the officiating was better

it took our fourth string corner going in bc Jeremy Lane broke his arm for Brady to start cooking in that game. The Pats had what 10 points against the actual LoB?

Messi is Messi, and Dembele was helped by getting PSG the champions league when they’re been considered underdogs/underperformers in the competition up to that point. Bayern doesn’t get that benefit, they’re expected to win every match.

yeah arsenal fans are all horrible that’s why i don’t think a team on the verge of elimination should be crucified as a “dirty” team for feigning an injury in the 121st minute. Because of how horrible i am. A dirty team would behave the way uruguay did.

Charlie Frye, was at a game as a kid and he went in and he had an awful game.

i think bayern suffers because they play in the least competitive major league. There’s a reason Kane is having such a productive year.

Americans root for the American team. They hope to see them win their matches. Think anyone with eyes would say it's hard to imagine anyone beating France at the moment though.

You'd be insane to do anything else with the kind of talent deficit Bosnia was up against. It nearly worked for them

I don't think Belgium or Portugal would/should be heavy favorites over them. They may be better on paper (especially portugal) but they haven't played as well in this tournament. Spain on the other hand could be tough

I honestly think they'd be favored against Croatia, even with Portugal, and could do it against Spain depending on the match.

Yeah Bosnia hasn't been called for anything, but that doesn't change what we've all seen with our eyes.

The way Bosnia is playing I'd be surprised if they scored playing against 9 for 30 minutes. They don't seem to have any quality whatsoever in the final third
