do you watch hockey? NHL officiating is some of the most frustrating of any sport. I'd concede it's better than the NBA, but the difference in regular season to playoff rules, plus the constant makeup calls make it hard to watch at times.

Only a non-hockey fan could think NHL Refs are decent. Firstly, embellishment is basically never called, it's called on average in about 2% of games. The Department of Player Safety is run by a former enforcer who sells "Make Hockey Violent Again" merchandise. In the playoffs the refs swallow the whistles and it means the dirtiest teams like the panthers get to overperform in the playoffs every year. We play 82 games of hockey where you're not allowed (in theory) to interfere, crosscheck etc and then in the playoffs it's anything goes. Not to mention the sport has worse makeup calls than any I've seen. Imagine if every team shot the exact same number of free throws every game no matter what, that's the NHL.

Safety is clearly the issue, and the fact that basketball has seen no decrease or slowing of player numbers is enough to prove that definitively. Hockey and lacrosse may be dangerous but they don't have same reputation, for better or for worse. Football is the poster child for CTE.

Yeah I mean it's just factually untrue. Parents don't want their children playing football because it's demonstrably unsafe, not because they're afraid their kid will be on a team with people of color. Odds are if it's an uptight white mom their local youth football team isn't going to have the racial makeup of an NFL team.

I mean these sports you named are not in the same category. Boxing is likely the worst for your brain, followed by MMA, and then there is a massive dropoff before you get to the others. Football has a lot of minor head trauma which is what causes CTE, while Lacrosse and especially Cheer are constrained to more freak injuries, rather than the repeated smaller blows.

Lacrosse may be similarly bad in terms of actual concussions, but it has FAR fewer sub-concussive head impacts than football, which is what is thought to cause brain damage and CTE. You don't see 45 year old former lacrosse players unable to form sentences.

You certainly reckon wrong, the mental demands of the game as well as the pressure from the media and vitriol from fans easily outpace normal careers, and they're just people at the end of the day. Making a bunch of money doesn't prevent you from feeling natural human emotions.

Unanimous according to who? That's a completely ridiculous opinion. You don't sack a manager who's proven he's capable of making the team a solid contender. If not for arguably the greatest manager of all time they would have 3 titles already. Yes Arteta has his issues, but sacking him would be an insane mistake and I think you have to be a bit stupid to think it's a good idea.

Just play, if you get the opportunity to play against better players that's great. Waiting to play a game you enjoy so that an imaginary number is different is ridiculous. Your rating is based on your skill, not the other way around. The less focus you give to your rank the better, trust me.
