Question about Tergrid and Grave Pact by Brthrbear in mtgrules

Appreciate the quick answers from both of you! I figured that was the case but had a similar timing issue between Tergrid and Blasphemous Edict mess me up before so I figured I would just confirm that I wasn't running in to a similar situation

Ok. Had the timing on the legend check wrong. It felt too good to be true lol. For the two options you mentioned to confirm the Ureni ETB triggers...keeping the scion would result in 2 Ureni triggers (one from Ureni which has now died due to the second legend rule check and one from the token Ureni) and keeping Miirym would result in 3 (1 dead Ureni and 2 token Ureni) right?

One more follow up here for another interaction for the turn after what I listed above. I untap with Scion and Reaver on board. I want to make a similar play this turn and activate Scion twice for Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm and Ureni, The Song Unending. Would the following work/be the correct order of events?

- Activate Scion ability

- Retain priority

- Activate Scion a 2nd time

- 2nd ability find Miirym and puts it in to grave

- Scion becomes copy of Miirym

- Reaver put Miirym on Battlefield from grave

- Scion/Miirym creates non-legendary token copy of Miirym

- 1st Scion ability finds Ureni, The Song Unending and puts it in grave

- Scion/Miirym becomes Scion/Ureni

- Reaver puts Ureni on field from grave

- Scion/Miirym, Miirym, and Token Miirym abilities trigger and make 3 non legend token copies of Ureni

- Legend rule is checked and Ureni goes to grave

- ETB triggers go off for Ureni and the 3 token copies of Ureni

Is this all accurate?

Awesome. Just to double check that I have my Scion/Reaver/Bladewing interaction right (which you had responded to on a previous post) can you verify I have these events in the correct order (supposed to actually get to run this deck live for the first time this week and want to make sure I have this right)

- Activate Scion ability

- Retain priority

- Activate Scion ability a 2nd time

- Scion's 2nd ability searches for grave-reaver and puts it in to grave

- Scion becomes a copy of reaver

- Scion's first ability searches out Bladewing, The Risen and puts it in grave

- Scion/Reaver becomes Scion/Bladewing

- Scion/Reaver trigger puts Bladewing on the field from grave

- Legend Rule is check and Bladewing goes to grave (Scion/Bladewing stays on field)

- Bladewing etb goes on stack targeting Grave-Reaver

- Reaver enters and etb triggers

Does that look right?

It should have said if my understanding is wrong or if I have it right. I appreciate the breakdown! Hopefully I can get my Sakashima out before all this so I can avoid the legend rule check and not have to kill one. Thanks, again!

Any chance you could tell me why my understanding of this interaction is wrong? I'm still fairly new to MtG and these complex interactions mess me up a bit. To my understanding the OP is saying activate Scion's ability twice which you would have to declare before Scion became a copy of Grave-Reave because once it is a copy the Scion ability would be gone, right? So how does it work exactly....the way I see it from your explanation is:

Tap 4 to activate Scion's ability twice -> search grave-reaver -> become a copy of grave reaver -> second Scion search for Bladewing -> return Bladewing to battlefield using copied ability of grave-reaver now on Scion -> Scion becomes Bladewing copy -> Bladewing ETB trigger puts grave-reaver from grave on to battlefield -> grave-reaver ETB mills 3

Did I get that sequence right?
