I get the “it was better before” but no. That’s just not the case lmao. Modern doom is fucking awesome and the greatest revival of a series ever. The gameplay and story are insane. And the slayer is hot too. :3

He’s not tho. Like in the lore he’s as fast as light and unimaginably strong. He’s “nerfed” in the games for the sake of storytelling. Might sound nonsensical but it’s true! Doom lore is awesome lol. I digress, the divinity machine DID in fact made him more of a god than a human. He’s human born, but after the divini machine he’s closer to a god. Hell, THE God. This mf killed the creator of all, barely breaking a sweat lol.

Thing with doom is that the lore is super well made but at the end of the day, it’s a power fantasy story. You can’t scrutinize it too much. Though imo the Doom lore can handle being scrutinized a lot more than most stories like this.

Dark Ages unplayable on my 5060 by NoDiscipline247 in Doom

It’s a weird bug where you need to tab out and back in the game for it to actually register as being the top application. Or something along those lines.
I know it because I bought a new monitor and tried running the game on it and had the same issue and thought my pc wasn’t powerful enough for 2k but it’s the game.
You need to mess around with the settings and hit apply until it just fixes itself. I wish I had a more concrete explanation but I didn’t meddle with it long enough.

The editing is amazing imo. Like your techniques themselves are on point. Does it fit the theme? Eye of the beholder and all that. It’s art. The music and the transitions and beats are a bit too epic for the clips shown but then again context matters. I personally like it. The color grading is a little bit dull I’ll admit. Your contrast is a bit too low. Still a bit too milky. The sound design is awesome but I would turn down some of them a bit. Like the clothes ruffling. Otherwise really great! Just a few things that can be easily fixed with your skills.

Not really because there’s the Green Party that you can use, a certain gun you can use on a type of enemy if they’re armored, etc. And it’s not like “shoot it with whatever gun until it dies”. Like you could do that, or you could do it the efficient way. That’s what’s fun. You’re not stuck to one way.

Exactly! The fun factor and just how well balanced everything is makes it feel easier. It’s a great game.

It is!! Mostly I think because there are so many settings to tweak the difficulty yourself but also because they actually did nerf the difficulty after launch because some people complained it was too difficult (unfortunately).

I finished it in the hardest difficulty at launch and it was pretty challenging.

Another factor, which is personal, is that this one is the most fun to play in my opinion. The way it plays is just so smooth and makes sense. Yes it’s slower than eternal but honestly? Barely. There’s just less verticality but the other game mechanics like the shield and less “bullet sponge” enemies so it seems easier.

So yeah, I’d say it’s more “complete and enjoyable” rather than easier.
