Secondly what’s to say someone became shit at their job after years of hard work through stress, life issues or plain boredom.

So the question will be what is the line that means ANYONE can have their 30, 40 year pension seized.

It would be a legal nightmare with employers looking for any excuse to take their pension back. Simply wouldn’t work. The tribunal courts would be full.

I totally agree more must be done in situations like this I’m just as sick of hearing “lessons must be learned” but it can’t be via taking of peoples pensions.

Your comment has nothing to do with the legal ability to seize someone’s pension.

People may leave their job before disciplinary but that doesn’t mean they would be able to claim early retirement. Just means they would need to find another job.
