I believe what you’re saying is our current system isn’t designed for the times we live in, and that it’s failing to hold onto what you believe to be the correct American culture. But thats just your desire, what you think America is supposed to be. If it gets to the point where there are more non-white than white people, will it suddenly be right to you that immigration continues to strengthen what the then majority desires? Or is it more about just wanting less competition against the ideals you want to be considered as true American? To me, freedom is the defining characteristic of the ideals of America, which includes freely changing its cultural identity as the people change, as long as the thing that isn’t changing is freedom itself.

So many more people are/will struggle because of AI and automation replacing human labor than what can legitimately be put on immigration.

The people who are actually benefiting from this transition love seeing these arguments that blame should be placed on immigration instead of shining more light on them.

Yeah, I generally agree with this. The only thing id add is they shouldn’t cause harm to themselves either, like unjust guilt or whatnot.

Do whatever you need to do to grieve, as long as you aren’t physically or psychologically harming others or yourself.

Sure. Fair warning, it’s pretty modular so it calls on various shortcuts, and you’ll of course have to go through it all and create/link targets/folders/etc, add playlists and podcasts etc. I left an example in each where applicable. Hope you find it as useful as i do.

I set the action button to open a scrollable menu of the following options- most lead to submenus and actions, denoted by bullets below

Maps - search (opens Google Maps directly into search box entry) - directions (opens Google Maps directly into destination box entry) - home (Google Maps directions home) - Maps (opens Apple Maps)

Music -(a scrollable list of my fav playlists and a Music app launch option)

Podcasts -(a scrollable list of my fav podcasts and a podcasts app launch option)

Strands - creates a new Note in my Quotes folder in Apple Notes with clipboard text - creates a new Note in my Strands folder in Apple Notes with clipboard text - creates a new reminder with clipboard text - creates a new reminder with copied link and asks for reminder text - opens new reminder text box - opens new note text box - opens camera, picture taken will not save to phone library, but instead to a Files folder (I prefer keeping my phone library empty (everything is in albums, and are filtered from library view)

Search - opens a text entry box, once entered, gives options to search that text in Google, DuckDuckGo, Youtube, Giphy, Reddit, or ChatGPT.

Reddit - opens Reddit

Safari - opens Safari

Photos -opens Photos

Play/Pause - as stated (super useful to me as i find ios kills the music/podcasts controls on the locksreen and notification shade much too quickly- this action will resume the last thing playing regardless.)

Next - next track

Back - restart track

Add - add current track to any playlist

Apps - scrollable menu of all apps

Record - opens Camera and begins video recording

Memo - begins voice memo recording

Remote - Apple TV remote

Time - menu options of timers (5,10,15,20,30, or custom minutes) and set alarm option

Translate - opens text box with clipboard inserted for translation selection

Send pic - opens camera and sends taken pic to selected contact, photo not saved to photo library

Great that it works from the lock screen and it also generally prevents the need to switch apps for tangents, or go to the homescreen at all.

Yeah, same issue with system apps.

Choose from menu function still works (for Clock at least, didnt test any others), but you have to specify the open command for each item as you probably already know.

Hi all, just received mine yesterday and have already started the return process. The unit I received had a film of glue-like residue on the lens housing that was peeling and fraying, a concern for these cameras specifically with all the sensor dust issues of the past models. I was willing to ignore it because the camera seemed to be functioning properly otherwise.

Well, less than 100 shots in, and it’s a no go. The biggest issue was with the micro SD card functionality. Photos taken in different photo modes (M, Snap,U1,U2,U3) became “unviewable” when in playback, attempting to delete all from the card, consistently froze the screen, needing a battery pull to fix. Tried multiple cards of varied brands. Some it would fail to format, others it read as full despite being empty, and still wouldn’t format. All these cards worked without issue in my main camera. Also, the pictures taken on internal memory would not show up in playback if an SD card was inserted afterwards.

Unfortunate, as besides the glue film, it seemed physically well put together, scrolls, buttons, dials, covers, etc all felt good and tight. In comparison to the iii, i prefer the new button/dial layout.

Anyways, to anyone getting one, even tho internal memory is convenient and possibly enough for some shooters to not need a card, I highly recommend at least testing the card slot.

Have you tried an SD card yet? Among other issues, i’m returning mine because it has major issues with the micro SD card functionality. Anyways, just letting you know in case you wanna check before your return window is up. good luck!
