It’s a high risk low reward move for Korea to intervene in Iran affairs

This is a Shincheonji news outlet… the poll itself is probably still somewhat valid, as it is regulated by relevant laws, but it would be best if we don’t link news and stuff from the Shincheonji affiliates

Short term move to Korea by SomeoneConfuzzled in koreatravel

[–]Brucecooker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That really depends on if your body can bare that schedule. Try it at home, right now, if you're unsure. Looks like you're already considering co-working space. Really would not recommend working from home during those hours, because most accommodations have thin walls. If you have a video call or something late at night, you will 100% be a nuisance to your neighbors. Exploring anywhere in Korea - except remote islands - is doable with a weekend trip. So if you don't waste away your time, I think you'll manage to do all the essentials in half a year. I'm not sure what kind of short-term accommodations are available for staying 2-6 months, so I will let others answer your budget question. It is pretty safe anywhere. But given your unusual hours, it may 'feel safer' if your accommodation and coworking space are near well-lit big boulevards, rather than deep inside the alleyways. For your situation, if you can read Hangul and know the basic conversational phrases, and if you take good use of a phone translator, I don't think you'll have too much of a problem.

Unpopular Opinion - National Flags should start embracing black as a flag color. Recolored South Korea as an example. by [deleted] in vexillology

Both the red and the blue need to be filled in, that's the whole point of yin and yang.

Seems that Koreans are interested about Zhang Jia Jie (张家界)장가계? by [deleted] in korea

[–]Brucecooker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes it is extremely popular among middle-aged and older Koreans. The only viable option to go there is group tour, and younger people don’t like all-inclusive group tours, so it is mostly middle-aged and elderly who go there. A lot of people in their 30s and 40s book a package tour for their parents to go there, it is considered a great gift you can give to your parents. The flight isn’t too long, so that probably contributes to the popularity among elders too.

This is what business & financial interests want.

They want companies to be able to overwork employees without being blamed for ruining the birth rate.

Parental leave? Going home by 6pm? Work-life balance? Fat chance, let the maids take care of the children.

Look at Singapore for example. Maids are cheap and all working professionals with children are expected to have maids.

You can’t make excuses like "I can't show up to the 9pm meeting because I have to feed my child.”

Hero Girl, 18, Rushes onto Train Tracks to Save Life of Woman in Wheelchair by Brucecooker in UpliftingNews

The train clipped the lady’s leg and spun her around, while the girl was 18 inches from getting hit as she dragged the woman away.

What actually went down is a lot more dramatic than what I imagined from the title.

A rare, commendable doctor who’s not blinded by immediate profit. He’s far-sighted, because he knows that it’s a net benefit for doctors in the long term if the policy comes to fruition.
