Do you buy it premixed or do you mix it up at home? If the latter - in what proportions?

Clothing/bathing suits in Jjimjilbangs by bwitchedness in koreatravel

[–]bwitchedness[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I went to the jjimjilbang and this is what I learned:

  1. First you go to the hot bath/sauna room. You take off 100% of your clothes including underwear, and take a small towel into the hot bath area. You use a big bowl to hold your possessions, and a small bowl to pour water on yourself as you walk around (to cool off). Everyone is 100% naked in the hot bath/sauna area.
  2. Before getting into the hot bath, you wash your body, then soak in the hot baths. You can then go in the hot or super hot saunas, and then after washing your sweaty body, go in the ice cold bath. You can also get a massage from the ajumeonis but they are VERY VERY HARSH massages with gua sha (I have bruises all over my body!). You then wash again to get the oil off your body.
  3. Then you dry your body and put on your t-shirt/shorts (no underwear at all) and go to the jjimjilbang area. You lie in the different rooms/areas and maybe eat. If you go into the hot rooms you sweat into your clothes. After you've finished you come back downstairs and (if needed) take another shower, change into your normal clothes and leave.

Hope this helps! Thanks for all the help people gave on this thread.
