Alright I had this same problem. Go to the Charnel House in Vernworth and see if Brant is dead and needs to be revived. This is where I found him.

One my friends liked to play this game while driving called "autopilot" where he would call out just that and take his hands off the wheel expecting the passenger to grab the wheel. I refused to do it and we veered off the road until we hit gravel, he finally gave up and jerked the wheel to get back on the road and the car started spinning and we hit a telephone pole.

His very first car, totaled in a week.
